I have recently got a blank art canvas and it has some extra wooden bits that look like they could be pushed into the corners. What are they for?

Martin lives in Bellingham WA . He is a talented artist but has trouble approaching galleries and asking them to look at his work. He needs someone to represent him. I am willing to pay you $50 for any leads that lead to a contract between Martin and
an agent that gets him a show or individual sale.

Right now I have a BA in art (emphasis in graphic design). Do I have to have a BA in painting before I get my MFA? What college or university in California do you recommend has the most excellent program? Which have reasonable costs? (I can't afford tens of thousands a semester!) Help!

This is a work in progress I thought you might have fun analyzing. I have no idea what I'm trying to say here, but maybe you do.

It is a multi-panel painting that will be called 'Unreal City' when, and if, it's finished. The unfinished panels will include several surreal city scenes and backdrops.

The first photo here shows detail from the already finished panels:

The second photo shows the full canvas:

(You can click on the images to enlarge, but not enrage, them.)

Have fun. And be honest.

Bob Ross had a similar painting show after William Alexander. The song I'm thinking of was a Whistling song. At least it sounded similar to someone whistling.

I've heard that an artist makes a color lithograph by using more than one stone. How does this work in practice? Does the artist really need to paint on 6 different stones to create a painting with six colors? How does the artist know how the print will look once the stones are combined when transferred onto paper?

Does the protective coating "have to be" one from an art store, that says for Acrylic Paintings? Isn't a non yellowing form of protectant sealer from a home improvement store just as good? I just don't see shelling out extra cash just because something has a name brand label on it. It's not like my pieces are family heirlooms I just want something to protect them and give them a nice shine.

I saw some prints in a gallery once. This guy painted a ship with butterfly sails. Another picture is of a girl sleeping on the beach with the waves as her blanket. He also painted a flower whose petals were people. His work is very surreal, like Dali, kinda.
Does anyone know who I'm talking about?

It's 10 points to whomever gets me the correct name fist.

Thanx!

Not instruments, music notes, or musicians......but what sound looks like? ......did you match moods of the song to certain colors or lines?

If you have,..how did you paint something you couldn't see?
