Not the painting, but the actual person. . .I think she's a fugly gremlin-like trashy monster. . .but that's my opinion

Well, whatever that means, not quite English, but I get your jist. To answer your question, if you are interested, no, I have always thought her homely. But she has 'something', maybe it's the eyes.
Some art historians think that perhaps it wasn't a real woman. They think the painter did a self-portrait of himself as a woman! I think that's possible, but I don't quite believe that it's true. Most women (and men) were not as 'good' looking as most people are today, probably because their lives were much harder back then without all our modern conveniences and our modern health care.

The painting is beautiful work of art.
The woman in the picture may have been considered a real looker in her day.
As far as her looks, I've always been puzzled that she was considered beautiful. But hey women do have all sorts of charms and someone was lead to paint her portrait for some reason, and she's been around awhile, so why shouldn't she be considered a beauty.

Besides, unless a female is so terribly awful in actions, most are considered beautiful by someone, if not only their mothers.

and I know it's probably the most famous painting in the world, but I don't see why that is either!?
apparently (some people think this), that it's actually a self portrait of da vinci as a woman...
so there ya go!

like they say... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Me personally, no.

Average looking girl... sure.

Beautifully captured, absolutely!

not beautiful but intriguing : looks like the portrait of a feminized man...hence, the characteristic smile.

Not in the least. You can see better looking women in the street everyday.

No. I love the painting but she's so....well. Woof. Not as monstrous as you make her out to be but I see your point.
