This is a work in progress I thought you might have fun analyzing. I have no idea what I'm trying to say here, but maybe you do.

It is a multi-panel painting that will be called 'Unreal City' when, and if, it's finished. The unfinished panels will include several surreal city scenes and backdrops.

The first photo here shows detail from the already finished panels:

The second photo shows the full canvas:

(You can click on the images to enlarge, but not enrage, them.)

Have fun. And be honest.

Lore, it probably won't be for sale. If I figure out exactly what I want to say here and how to say it this painting will be a 'keeper.'

Vpytko, when I ask a question like this the motive is two-fold. I love human nature and enjoy the varied responses to posed questions, from fields as far-ranging as art to astrophysics. Many times I find the replies to be very interesting and insightful. I also ask such questions simply because it’s fun, it’s a form of aesthetic entertainment.

i realy like the definition in the monochromatic woman, and the linear shapes in the cubes kind of remind me of tetris, the definatly catch the eye and draw it in. i like the fact that your going for an unrealistic feel to it, so many people shape theior ideas off of real think and make them ideals but when somthing is unrealistic theres no forces conformity..it allowes everyone to be themselves. i think it would be cool to do each panal monochromatic but each with a different colour, like one blur oe red one yellow. or stick with an anagous scheme (yelloows greens and blues) it would have a cool effect......unless your planning tou use just cool colours like a darkened sin city feel to it..........it could also be reflective of a scattered outlook of life, each window showing a new horizion or path of life that was chosen or maybe left behind...

Doc, how could we possibly know what you are trying to say at this stage? Or even when it is finished, unless you specifically address that in the title or artist's statement. In the end, let us judge the piece on what it says to us, because the importance of the work to you and its understanding and basis would have been manifest in the process of creating it, not in the hindsight examination by us of the possible rationale for each brushstroke and any guess at how the resultant "images" were decided.

Wow, I really enjoy that - the panel with the monochromatic "cubes" and the panel with the window (I like the green "sky")...I'll be thinking of those "cubes" for a little while...I also like the angle of the trees and the excellent "sun/moon" with them.

Thanks for sharing.

The artist is trying to say "Hey look I'm so thoughtful, please please please buy my work!"
