I am a watercolorist and am thinking about painting with water-soluble oils.. any advice would be great..To start, what brand is best?
How about mediums? Maybe a suggested beginner's palette.
Thanks

I know that a white primer/sealer spray paint is great for shirts (black) cause it lasts and doesn't wash out. But no one sells a black primer/sealer that I know of. I need to know what kind of black spray will work....and it needs to be in a black flat kind of color. Thnx

I had to seal my headlights on my car with clear silicone to stop the condensation. I need to paint it black because it looks terrible.

Can anyone tell me if i were to mix sand with my oil paint would it stay fixed on the canvas? Also does anyone know of anyother mediums that i can use to thicken paints, other than the more expensive meduims in the Art shops. I like to bring lots of different thicknesses on whilst using a painting knife!

I need advice on the best and cheapest way to ship a kind of large painting, (about 24"X30"X1"). Anyone have any experience with doing this? Anything I should avoid? Is using the USPS O.K. or should I spend more and use FedEx or UPS?

I want to use Marc Chagall's "Three Candles" for some printed invitations, not for resale. It is certainly within 50 years of his death, though am wondering if it makes a difference for personal use... I live in Australia.

Also I see a lot of warmth and love in this painting, though I am told it was intended to convey protection from harm, and isolation... Can anyone comment?

if you don't copy it exactly? change some things, leave some details out, use slightly different colors, etc.

So I was wondering if any of you knew the names of some modern known artists that just use acrylic paint in their work. Preferably more abstract artists...

I was looking on canvas paper sites and there are several types from heavier to more light weight. Which kind will be better and long lasting? Is there a specific name recommended? Is there also a website recommended (to look at the different types and for purchasing?)

I used to live in South Yarr, Melbourne and there was a gallery on Toorak road which exhibited Australian artists work. I saw a beautiful but simple painting of a blue sky with one white fluffy cloud in the top centre of the painting and at the foot of the painting, in the centre, is a girl sitting pointing up at the cloud. You see the girl from the back and she has a long black plait in her hair down the back of her white dress (I think white). I would love to know who it was by and where I could get a print of it. Any help????????
Yes - I know I should have enquired at the gallery but we have returned to the UK now and the painting haunts me when I am depressed and it makes me feel all warm n happy inside.

I am looking for a serious art class.

I have been looking and looking but most of the classes I find are recreational. There has to be a class where you get a good valuable critique and technique. A class that is to share insights on how to improve and absorb better ways to render your art.

For all of the artist in here, can you guys recommend one?
