I am looking for a serious art class.

I have been looking and looking but most of the classes I find are recreational. There has to be a class where you get a good valuable critique and technique. A class that is to share insights on how to improve and absorb better ways to render your art.

For all of the artist in here, can you guys recommend one?

If you want serious feedback from your art in the LA area you might have to enroll in a local class at your local university, like USC, UCLA, etc.

However, if you live in the valley area of LA or are within driving distance there is a remarkable, private art school in West Van Nuys called the 'Los Angeles Academy Of Figurative Art.' They are at 16926 Saticoy and their phone number is 1-818-708-9232.

They offer full time classes, part-time classes and weekend classes.

I don't live in Los Angeles and have never taken an art class but i have seen some pretty good stuff from people who have taken what you refer to as recreational art classes. Every thing i've learned and continue to learn come from the books i check out from my local library and studying paintings by other artists at galleries. I am a selftaught artist and my art can be checked out at hellosanantonio.com under artist name ''Guerro''. My philosophy to art has always been to looking at a painting and wonder, how did they do that? Then going home and trying out different ways to accomplish it. So, while you are looking for this class that you think will give what you are looking for, don't forget that there are other resources that can really be just as helpful if not more. Good luck.
