One year ago when i was living in PA, i was driving home from work and i see a guy with his kids selling some items like a mini yard sale,he said he was moving and was like in a rush to sell everything. I see this beautiful painting, keep in mind i draw & paint and have a great talent so not many art impress me,but i have never ever seen something like this,he sold it to me for $30 dollars. Me & my boyfriend took it home and put it up and we were just starring at it, It is very big and it is a original painting i really don't know what paint was used, and who the artist is because the name is really hard to understand. Everyone that goes to my house ask me were i got it from, they are like "wow" when they see it,I am not exagerating i am very serious there is something about this painting, i started wondering who could have painted this and i can't find the artist because i have no name besides the painting(I can't uderstand the name).

Is there a website that you could place a photo of a painting and experts could say who they think the artist is? I am really trying to know who it is,the painting it's hard to describe but i will try until i take a picture of it, It is like all blue(darkblue) with black shadow,it has a big mountain, trees, and water like coming down from the mountain, the water is like white painting. It looks as if you are in this big blue world, like everything that is supposed to be green in "real life" in the painting is blue, but with black around.I don't know i just know it is a painting you can't avoid to stop and stare at it,I mean everyone that goes inside my house ask me the same question "Who is the artist" "Were did you buy it from" I have seen so many painting online of blue stuff and i haven't found one that looks like it. The frame is like carved wood or something, please let me know if you have seen a painting like i describe to see if i could find the artist or any advice on were i could check. Thank You.

All I ever use is Acrylic paints, charcoal and markers, or pencil or ink. I want to do something differnt, I wanted to know some other creative stuff I could do or try. Such as oil pastels, or mixxing drawings of ink, with paint around them. Can you give me some ideas of what to use? What could I use to draw on black paper too?

I looked at the painting Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I (http://www.overstockart.com/poofadbli19.html) it was done by Gistav Klimt - http://www.overstockart.com/klimtgallery.html. It is a painting of a a lady called Adelle Bloch Bauer and I heared it was bought for a lot of money.
Can anyone tell me how much it was bought for and if it is the highest amount anyone has ever paid for an oil painting?

I usually draw the ocean, ships, mermaids, animals, clouds. I sometimes want to create cool new art projects, I've only ever used Charcoal, paints, pencil, pen, and pastels. I also wanted to try stippling on black paper, I saw it online, but I didnt know what I could use to do that, someone did the stippling in color, and mostly white. I want to try new tools, and what can I do or use? Also What else can I draw, I need some ideas? I'm sitting here on the computer with markers, and a pencil, and charcoal, I also have paints. Help me out!

I have an ebay account but everytime I put up paintings no one buys them. It may be that not many people saw it or liked it, or maybe even that you have a feedback percentage and since I've never sold anything mine isn't good.

What do you perfer in paintings, people, animals, or fantasy creatures? Should I do abstract, or realism I perfer realism.

Can you give me any helpful tips on selling my work, or techniques. I really need some extra cash.

Should I sell pencil drawings, Charcoal drawings, or paintings?

I finished it early this morning. Normally I have no problems coming up with titles but this one has me stumped. I will tell you that the portrait is based on a character from a novel I read years ago called 'Catch-22.'

Please give it your best shot. You won't win anything but satisfaction if your title is the best one.

Thank you.

Should I have the canvas rolled up in a cylinder case? Should I ship it with the wood brace still intact? How can I ensure the buyer recieves it in mint condition with a minimum amount of hassle (and expense on my side)?

Art colleges and Liberal Arts Colleges with Art Departments teach theory and modern art without good basic training in drawing and painting. My main interest is in Classical Realism, Contemporaray Realism, Academic Art,Still Lifes, and Portraits. Where can I get the skills needed to become a succesful painter ?

I would like to put some pictures of my art on the web but I would like to somehow 'mark' them to prevent theft, if possible. Is there such a thing and where/how would I go about getting it? Does it cost anything, and how much? What do you you use?
Also, are there any other tips on putting pictures on the web?
How can I have a good quality image without the possibility of people printing them?Do I lower the pixels or what? I don't know much about these kinds of things LOL!!!! How can I keep my pictures safe? What about copyright? Does anyone know anything about that as well? Sorry I know this is more than one question LOL!!! Thanks!

im thinking of buying some decent acrylic paints but dont know which to get. has anyone used any of these brands and if so can you tell me if they are any good.
gerstaecker, liquitexor lascaux. or any others really.
in general i like opaque paint with very good coveage such as gouache and the problem i have with the reeves paints is that they can sometimes be improperly mixed from the tube, either lumpy and thick or the resin and pigment sepparate.
