One year ago when i was living in PA, i was driving home from work and i see a guy with his kids selling some items like a mini yard sale,he said he was moving and was like in a rush to sell everything. I see this beautiful painting, keep in mind i draw & paint and have a great talent so not many art impress me,but i have never ever seen something like this,he sold it to me for $30 dollars. Me & my boyfriend took it home and put it up and we were just starring at it, It is very big and it is a original painting i really don't know what paint was used, and who the artist is because the name is really hard to understand. Everyone that goes to my house ask me were i got it from, they are like "wow" when they see it,I am not exagerating i am very serious there is something about this painting, i started wondering who could have painted this and i can't find the artist because i have no name besides the painting(I can't uderstand the name).

Is there a website that you could place a photo of a painting and experts could say who they think the artist is? I am really trying to know who it is,the painting it's hard to describe but i will try until i take a picture of it, It is like all blue(darkblue) with black shadow,it has a big mountain, trees, and water like coming down from the mountain, the water is like white painting. It looks as if you are in this big blue world, like everything that is supposed to be green in "real life" in the painting is blue, but with black around.I don't know i just know it is a painting you can't avoid to stop and stare at it,I mean everyone that goes inside my house ask me the same question "Who is the artist" "Were did you buy it from" I have seen so many painting online of blue stuff and i haven't found one that looks like it. The frame is like carved wood or something, please let me know if you have seen a painting like i describe to see if i could find the artist or any advice on were i could check. Thank You.

You need to do three things.

1. Try and take a picture of the painting, put it on flickr.com account or any picture sharing site, and link it here, so everyone can see what your painting looks like.

2. Most artists have a very distinct style - check out www.art.com to see if you can find any similarities between your painting and some other artist's style.

3. Also, take the picture to any art colleges in your area, and ask them whether they recognise the style.

Start a Yahoo 360 account. It's free. Photograph a good, clear copy of the painting and post it in your free photo section. Then ask us again, providing a link to the painting. We would all love to try to help you but you've got to help us out a little.

Enter whatever you have into an arts search engine like www.absolutearts.com or wwar.com

Enter the name, year, medium, size, subject matter...whatever you have to work with and see what comes up. The sites have a lot of living artists as well as dead artists. if the artist is dead, you might get a dealer or gallery come up that deals with the artist estate.

If this town wasn't too far from you, why don't you go back there and find the house and then track down the man who sold it to you? There would be records that would give you his name and maybe the post office would have a forwarding address.
Unless of course, he was in trouble with the law and on the lamb.

I see that you can't anderstand the name but maybe you try to write what is it, or is it in alphabet that you don't know?
