i am in charge of an after school club for 5-8 yr olds ive been given a wall inside to paint a picture on it it has to be inviting for this age group and incorporate a blackboard design using the blackboard paint has anybody got some nice but quite simple ideas as im a rubbish drawer the wall is about the same size as your average living room wall ( an example would be paint flowers on the wall and paint the middle bit of a flower with blackboard paint so the children can chalk on this ) all ideas appreciated x x

Check out my DA gallery: 843.deviantart.com
Why aren't more people using it? I mean, just because of the existence of Photoshop does that mean Paint become useless and insignificant? It's a godsend for me who can't afford a tablet. Is Paint something that should be left for the little kids to kill some time? Is it something us adults consider a kiddie tool? I mean, it's a small and simple program, free and portable. What more do you want? I know there are limitations, but still...

Sorry, I just had to let off some steam... share us your views.

Long live Paint... long live Paint...

I'm looking for a site, or shops maybe in UK. I really need them because I'm starting A level Art soon and on the induction day was given a homework to do a portrait of myself, and I want to use acrilyc paints because I'm only good with using them.

I've done several weddings and only shoot with one camera (on my person). But I am wondering if I should start carrying a backup if the 1st one fails midway. It sounds logical to do so, but I'm wondering if it'll be too cumbersome. Let me know what you all do. Thanks! :)

It is a painting of an African painting. It has a woman on it and it looks like she's from the 70's. It's pretty modern. And it has a bunch of music notes surounding her.

I mean technically, how did he apply the paint? How many layers does his painting have? Anyone knows of a site or a book where transversal cuts of his painting layers can be seen?
He uses glazes over opaque painting? And then he uses opaque highlights? How are his deep shadows done: by direct painting or glazing?

Hey there! I'm an Indian... and if I had to choose symbols to represent my country, I know what I'd pick. Stuff like the Taj Mahal, a Bharatnatyam dancer, a tiger (national animal), letters in hindi. But I'd like to make a bookmark, incorporating symbols that are close to the Balinese culture. I'd be grateful for help, especially from balinese themselves!

Has anyone had experience stretching oversized linen like this? What were your results and what did you need to do to stretch your canvas sucessfully?

I want to initiate an open-source style project to design an advanced (animated) GUI for a new application. No initial commercial ambitions...just an ambition/curiosity of mine.

I would like to start with artists / graphic designers instead of coders because I really want to 'think outside the box' on the interface. (i.e. probably initially break all known GUI / windowing rules most coders know and love).

Most sites (like Sourceforge) seem oriented to coders rather than designers. I am not a designer myself, so I do not know where they hang out and where I could recruit some to the project.

A sourceforge for designers would be ideal, but I have a feeling it does not exist.

Any ideas on sites where I could start would be appreciated! I have beginner - intermediate knowledge on the open source concept itself, so anywhere I could do some more self-education on that would be great too.

Thanks in advance!

Hi .

A difficult question.
If you had to pick a symbol to associate female/male, somehting that striaght away when you see it you think man or woman, what will it be ??
e.g for a man a bottle or beer ..
Don't tell me about the venus and mars signs :-).

Thanks
