Draw around children making them life size. Paint children black. Could have children holding hands. You could have flowers falling all around them. Use a nice background color around your children and flowers. Also instead of flowers you could use toy shapes painted black. eg) truck, doll, blocks, top, ball, pail, shovel etc.

I'd suggest doing the blackboard in sections...panels, separated by painted sections between. Vertically. It will allow more access to more kids at the same time. The painted dividers can be done in primary colors and if you wish to embellish them with decorations, you can do so afterward. They have ga-jillions of stencil patterns for just this type of project.

Paint anything positive in life. Show something of all positive possibilities there is in life. The negative side of life will be told soon enough. Flowers, love, beauty, good tecnolgi in use for mankind, not against.

how bout like a kiddie metropolis?

you could paint buildings in festive colors, have a blank place, for example like where you'd put adverts on billboards, where the kids can draw. and you can have one of those planes where there's a message haniging off the tail end, again a place where children can draw. plus buildings are pretty simple to draw just a bunch of squares and rectangles.

hope this helps.
