With what symbol / image will you associate each genre ?

A difficult question.
If you had to pick a symbol to associate female/male, somehting that striaght away when you see it you think man or woman, what will it be ??
e.g for a man a bottle or beer ..
Don't tell me about the venus and mars signs :-).

Men and women are not a genre..they are a sex.

But anyway....

Primally speaking , wiith men I associate a stick or straight vertical line....

With women...a circle.

Using abottle of beer does two things. You can say it associates with a man, but then you insult both those men who do not drink beer and those women who also like beer. Your item has to be better than 50% universal to your audience. The only two items that come to mind are underclothes.

Man = Jock strap
Woman = Bra.

Yes, very base in thinking but that is what you're going for right? If not those, then consider the Bathroom symbols for Man and Woman. Very universal and easy to spot.
