I know if it's framed behind glass and out of direct sunlight, that helps. Is there anything else you can do to preserve the life of a watercolor painting?

This artwork was left to me by my stepfather and I have been unable to abtain information about the artist. I believe he was from either Boston or Buffolo. One of the paintings is called Bird in Flight. Thanx

But when I was child growing up till I was 18 my parents had a print by Thomas Kinkade called the three wise men. It was three wolves in the middle of winter in a forest. I guess I must be imagining things as when I look it up I can't find it... Can anyone lend a hand? I would be greatly appreciative. I have been searching for years and about ready to give up! It got lost during the divorce and neither can rem. who won it in the divorce because neither have it OI!

I really want to start using soft pastels, but I have no idea what brand I should get. I have recently just used "school grade" pastels, and I have produced pretty good stuff with them, but I just want to continue working on more art over the summer. I've been looking at Rembrandt pastels, and i'm wondering how those are. -Side note- I am also wondering if there is a subject that works better in soft pastels, rather than paints, or colored pencil. And what makes it suitable for each medium. Thanks

I volunteered to take photographs of my friend's dad's wedding, and i know nothing about lighting or how to go about taking photo's at a wedding. I don't think they mind that part, they just want it done cheaply. I do have an eye for art, and 6+ years expeirence in photoshop. Any advice from fellow photographers out there, much appreciated.

I'm still in highschool but i've decided that when i get to college i'm going to major in digital art, which is computer animation. Do I need to prepare a portifolio in order to be accepted into the art school, or do they accept all students who apply? Also, if i do need to prepare a portifolio, what needs to be in it? I've done some portraits of people before.

I liked the picture shown in the Rocky Balboa movie shown in the scenes in his restaurandt. I'd like to find a copy or even a framed poster of it. It is an abstract of 2 fighters. Wicked cool.

hey guys. I'm 27 male. I draw and one of m y favorite subjects is figure drawing. However i tend to get hot and sexual when i draw females. Just working on the shape of a girl makes me automaticallly hot.

It's good but i mean, i don't want to be feeling hot when i'm doing art.

I am guessing digital photo prints have standard formats because it's cost effective (5x7, 8x10, 8x12, 11x14). But which format is closet in dimensions so that it most closely imitates the dimensions of your LCD screen, so what you see is basically what you get, assuming you don't do cropping? Also, can you create odd-sized print dimensions?

I've never found anyone who can answer this question. A long time ago, there was a special on PBS that had a segment on the making of their 1971 Tri-Colored I.D. logo. It showed the original animation team trading ideas for the graphics. The ideas were shown in cartoon, with the artists' voices in the background. "The 'P' is backwards. Better turn it around." "No, if you turn it around, the face will poke right against the 'B.'

I’ve sold a number of paintings in the past and haven’t faced this issue before. As some of you know the re-written copyright laws enacted when Clinton was president gives the creator of a painting all rights to that work upon completion of the work, including all rights to images of the painting as prints, reproductions, etc.

The price is fair enough, but the guy wanting it is stating that he wants to buy the painting and all rights to it’s image. And he wants this in writing (as a binding agreement) as part of the sale.

What would you do? Have you ever been asked to sale the complete rights to one of your works? I really don’t know how to deal with this. Would this mean that I couldn’t even display a copy in my portfolio without getting his permission? Or on my blog?

Here is the painting, not that what it looks like has any bearing on the issue:
