If you just put them on by themselves, they are not very dramatic. They work best over other colors...put over lighter colors they tend to show a change in hue when viewed from different angles, put over darker colors the interference hue is more visible.

I'm not sure what you plan to do. I'd say just apply it any way you see fit. There is not much to it.
