Visual Arts - March 2007

I enjoy drawing in my spare time (that is when I get some..). However, I usually use a good ol' number 2 pencil. I would like to start a new portrait and also shade this one.

What pencils do you recommend and around how much would they cost?

I was asked to shoot a wedding by someone who works at the place I volunteer. I haven't shot a wedding before, but I'm a photography student and have a lot of experience working in various fields.

I have a nikon d80 with a 18-135mm lens and a pentax me super film slr that I could use to take b&w.

Do you have any tips?

To come out like if it were a shadow and the background black in white. Like those picture of hands that spell out love. Does anyone know how to do that?

I stitched this photo together using 4 different images and you can see where they were stitched together, especially in the sky. I tried using the clone tool and the smudge tool to fix it but neither worked.
Can somebody please offer me advice? Thank you! My image editing program is Gimp

For an example. The book is green. I might see it as yellow but call it green. My friend might sees it as orange, but calls it green. Could it be that we see different colors but refer to them as a name we all know.

I've always been into art. I can draw really well and I love to paint, but I've only recently started art classes at school and am only getting better! My teachers always encourage me to look at art schools, but my parents hate the idea. How can I get them to see that I can go to art school and make a career out of something I love??
