What is the formula for calculating the maximum magnification ratio (i.e., 1:1, 1:4, 1:8 etc) achievable given the following: 1. Lens focal length, 2. Minimum focusing distance of lens, 3. Diagonal (or some other dimension) of the film/sensor?

I do not have any background in film making / acting / arts. But I feel that this unique, non-fiction idea make for a powerful documentary. This will involve profiling lives of some monks who are educated, erudite, live in big cities but live a life of almost zero consumption of resources, all by choice. For example, can you imagine people doing inter-cty travel on foot (yes, walk every day for 2-3 months to cover, say, 1000 miles).

This lifestyle can be contrasted with the other extreme - where consumption and material possesion drive the lives.

All I have is this idea - is there a way I can send it to some documentary film makers who have the talent, passion, background to make this type of a non-fiction film. I am a professional working for a large corporation and have no clue beyond a 1-page outline on this idea. Thanks for your help in guiding me to some names / forums. I am prepared to send "cold emails" to whoever I need to :)

Thanks!!

People like Michael Jackson, Cher, La Toya Jackson and Pete Burns who've dramatically changed their appearance... do you believe their faces are art? Can cosmetic surgery be considered art?

Some people say they look like "freaks" but art is subjective after all...

Can anyone recommend a solution for cleaning my brushes? I seem to be allergic to white spirits even the ouderless ones.

Hi, I'm interested in finding out about 360 degree cameras, as used by the artist Sam Taylor-Wood. Apparantly the film continues to roll and expose as the camera turns round, I've also heard them mentioned in reference to the military. Does anyone know about this type of camera?

The paint is not directly noticable because it is similar in color. But I can feel the roughness on the tank etc. And there are a few small drips on the leather seat that are very noticable. Aside from my seething anger and what I'd like to do to the guy, I'd just like to get the paint off if I can.
