Because we can see them... and because colors are deeply linked with emotions. You can hardly look at a color without feeling something or thinking about something that you connect with that color.

I don't think we are obsessed, but we certainly are responsive. As said above, our emotions can be stimulated by color...that is why we see in color...to help us distinguish danger from safety, what's good to eat and what isn't and a good mate from a bad one. Sure, there are other stimulants but color is one of the senses we've developed to help us survive. Enjoy it.

Colors appeal to us and create different emotions. For example Orange is a very hot color (personaly ,this color makes me angry and mad) while earth tone colors greens, brown and blues are soothing. Pinks also are soothing.. Ever notice the colors that a hospital using in the patients rooms? Blues, greens and now some are pink are covering our hospital walls.

Colors can make a persons mood. They affect us in very distinct ways. They can make us happy or sad. Our emotions are tied to colors and everyday we are bombarded with colors. We tend to link certain things with certian colors. They make life interesting.
