The paint is not directly noticable because it is similar in color. But I can feel the roughness on the tank etc. And there are a few small drips on the leather seat that are very noticable. Aside from my seething anger and what I'd like to do to the guy, I'd just like to get the paint off if I can.

The paint used on the house is satin exterior.

Be careful...whatever you use may mar the original finish. Paint and metal are not made for each other so conversion coatings are used between them. While durable, a solvent may remove the clear coat or dull it so the result may be worse than the roughness you now feel.

This happened to a friend of mine...white house paint on her brand new black firebird...she made the painters pay to have her car repainted. They tried removing the house paint first but it dulled the finish on the car.

Rubbing compound will help on the tank. Need further info on type of paint to address leather problem!
