360 degree cameras?

Hi, I'm interested in finding out about 360 degree cameras, as used by the artist Sam Taylor-Wood. Apparantly the film continues to roll and expose as the camera turns round, I've also heard them mentioned in reference to the military. Does anyone know about this type of camera?

They use those to take enormous group photographs.
I remember when I were a lad at school we all had to stay still for about 10 seconds while the camera panned from left to right along all 700 of us all lined up. It wasn't 360º but it must have been about 60º and resulted in the folks at the end looking a bit warped.
Can't tell you anything more though, sorry, but you might try contacting some professional photographers who take school photos...

I have seen a few home-made 360 degree cameras. The camera has several pinhole-size apertures. A strip of film is placed in the camera that sits in place while the pictures are being exposed. Since it's a pinhole camera, the exposures take several minutes.

you can get the same thing from mounting a camera on a tripod taking a series of shots 360 degrees around and using panorama software to stich the shots together.
