I'm a very talented actor and would like to get in the business. I have an exotic look, but its hard to find an agency that takes those looks. But anyway, I've decided to go to auditions myself. There are a few on actinginfo.blogspot.com, but is it legit?

Also if anyone get give me any help in the business that would be great!
Such as classes, agencies that take exotic looks, audition notices, photographers, etc.

I'm looking for a dramatic MALE monologue. I really need something strong, very strong and hopefully something that I can show my range of expression. I'd really like to have some tears in it. Any thoughts?

i just finished my first major theatre production. it's the first time i was ever deeply involved with a production and i feel like i'm really lacking.

see, as i was backstage (i was on headset listening to stage manager orders, i was AD) i signal the guys (we did 'odd couple') to get ready to get on stage. it was opening night. i knew "break a leg" is the usual thing to say, but i said "good luck" instead and the guy who played oscar hushed me really fast and told me never never EVER say good luck. because it's bad luck in theatre.

and later on, when the girls were getting ready (we actually did both the female and male versions of this play at my hs) the female leads brought a bouquet of a certain kind of flower (can't remember the name of it) that was supposed to bring you good luck on stage if you rub its petals.

i suppose my question is what are those little theatre superstitions and traditions i should know? any terms, any anything? i'd like to be up to speed.

When the song Who Will Buy This Wonderful Morning it is done outdoors and I wondered where it was actually filmed. I think it is St Jame's Gardens in London passing for Bloomsbury. What do you reckon?

I am taking a theater tech class and I need to know a few things.. I'm supposed to look up on the internet about this stuff but like I don't know cause sometimes the internet gives the wrong info.. so I thought I'd try yahoo answers..
My questions are:

What is McCandles lighting?
What is Rosenthal Lighting?
What does gobo mean?
What is a two-fer?
What is the function of the gain knob on the sound board?

If you know the answer to just one that's fine.. I just need to understand it =] thank you.

My cousin use to be an actor, and she said that if I get headshots she will give it to her agent. Then I could meet him and he might represent me. But, the thing is that I have a awful feeling because it doesn't seem like I worked for it while other great actors out there work their butts off. I don't have a lot of experience other than acting classes, drama classes, and one play. My cousin was also represented back then when her acting coach introduce her to this agent when she had no experience. What do you think I should do? Thanks!

I've been doing a lot of soul searching. I haven't been too sure of what to do in life, But I think I've finally thought of something. I love working with kids and I love acting. So why not be a theatre teacher!

Anyway, my question is, if I want to teach theatre to kids (preferably young children maybe ages 3 to 12 or 14), Would I major in theatre? Or do you think I should major in something else and minor in theatre? If I minored in theatre, would I still be able to get a job as a theatre teacher at a school since it wasn't my major?

Thanx peeps!

Okay well, I am trying out for the school play "Grease" I have seen the movie only once. But I am not sure who to go out for.

I was thinking Jan from Pink ladies. I am in 8th grade, we have our HS and MS combined wich really sucks, because usually the highschoolers get the best parts.

Can someone tell me what Jan does in the play?

I want to dress like Sweeney Todd for this melodrama I'm performing (I'm a sinister character with mysterious and deadly intentions) and I wanted a really cool costume.

I need to know-
Hair (technique and color)
Makeup (exagerated)
Clothes (of course)
And possibly some help on an accent or mannerism?

Keep the costume simple please, but tell me what must be done to achieve the look.

Thanks!
