His maternal grandfather was a wealth landowner whose last name was Arden, from which we get the Forest of Ardern in As You Like It. Influences on us today?
-Well, there are so many modern adaptations of his plays. "Ten Things I Hate About You"? That's an adaptation of "Taming of the Shrew". "Big Business"? "Comedy of Errors". They are too numerous to mention.
-His words are heard everywhere. You have heard his immortal lines "To be or not to be" in numerous places, most likely. There is an entire Calvin and Hobbes comic based off of that famous molologue from Hamlet.
-He also coined so many words that are now very commonplace. Hurry? Shakespeare. Lonely? Shakespeare.
