I want to Act for film and TV.
I want to get as many degrees as i can in theater or fine arts.
I want to be able to get a bachelor of fine arts.
I prefer the farthest alway from Connecticut as i can.

I've enrolled in an acting course and the first class is tomorrow. It's a beginners class which is good because I haven't had any experience acting, and hopefully most of the other people there will be at a similar level as me.

Only problem is, I was never able to take drama at school because it wasn't a subject choice at the school I went to for a good part of my high school career. This makes me think that I may be further behind many of the students who were able to take drama.

I don't want to feel out of my depth. Can anyone offer any tips which might help me out?

I'm 17 and going into my senior year of High School. I've been taking singing lessons since the 8th grade. I’ve never had any acting or dance training, but I've always had a love and passion for Broadway. Would it be too late for me to start taking dance and acting classes now? I want to take musical theater in college, but I'm afraid I'll flunk out due to lack of training. I'm planning on taking some acting or dance classes in the fall, but it still doesn't seem enough. Is it too late for me to start my training in acting and dance in addition to my singing lessons… and still be good enough to study it in college?

I have been involved in theatre since my sophomore year of high school. I have done lights (both setting and running the board), set construction, stage manager, floor/run crew, assistant director, and assistant prop master. I am interested in pursuing a career in technical theatre and I'm just wondering what the best way to do that is? Do I need to go to college and major in theatre? Is there a way to get a job in the field without finishing college? I'm from a small town in the midwest, do I need to move to the coast or to a bigger city? Thank you in advance for your advice!

im really intreested in acting but i have no experience.
but i have asked my parents for like 3 years but know im making it more serious i am 15 years old now , and my dad thinks im like stupid when i tell him im intrested in it. like i even asked if he could put me in like acting lessons but he keeps telling me that im wasting my time and i dont know what im talking about and he says that hes not going to tell me to go for my dreams because i need to be realistic and that there are tons of people tryiing to become actors and i understand that and i really want to do this and hes telling me like i dont have a chance . and its really making me upset. and i dont know whether to believe it or not. like im starting to think now i dont have a chance in h.ell but i really would love to act. i have no intrest in anything else. and he also says people start when they are like babies or very young and me starting at this age and stuff is way to late so please give me feedback thanks.

I'm going to audition next january, for several colleges/unis in America, and I need two classical and two contemporary monologues. (They also need to be contrasting, round the age from 18-30. and preferably not overdone).
I'm having a difficult time finding first of all where I can look for these monologues ('cause I can't read every play ever written!) and what would suit me, all I know is I need a dramatic and a comic monologue, something with a tough character and a soft/frail one.
If ANYONE has an idea that springs to mind. PLEASE let me know.
MY question is: could anyone suggest plays, and or where to easily find them. Thank you =)

im moving to LA soon and want to attend casting calls, be an extra, and do commercials. I see craigslist.com has alot but ive heard backstage.com is good. Im serious about attending casting calls......its the reason im moving to LA. So I want to make sure I have all the casting calls I could, whats the best place to find them? Thanks
