Testing never pinpointed a deteriorated component.

Proper testing would have pointed to the deteriorated component.

(therefore proper testing was not done).

If the office psychopath has greatly deteriorated one of the components or subsystems, the office psychopath might insist on testing it with the rest of the system.

During the system test the office psychopath can arrange that any failings are blamed on one of the other subsystems.

The world today is largely driven by consumers. A company that is doing great, employing large numbers of people, making a great product or providing a great service and giving back to the community in a large way will go under if people don't like the product or service. People rate the success of their life by how much they own, they have a poor and incomplete life if they have little but they would have a better life if they had some more stuff, even if they have a great family and friends to support them. Even elections these days are won and lost largely by the state and status of the economy and how much money it puts into people back pocket instead of issues affecting other aspects of life.

So my question is, what would the world look like and how would it differ, both in economics and in social aspects as well, if the world we live in were less driven by economics, consumers and money?

Please explain your answers, focusing on the social aspects, changes and differences please.

Thanks.

The reason I think they might is this: In the animal world, if and animal has a flaw, it is quickly eliminated (by being eaten by another animal). If a human has a flaw, it can linger around for generations (because we are a social and compassionate animal). But, it is all conjecture, feel free to share your thoughts.

He pays bill collecters on a REGULAR basis. Does he not? Is it he who does not pay the bill collecter that becomes his debt? What debt shall a man owe another in emotions? ZERO EMOTION IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST!

Nietzsche had an A to this Q so did alot of other philosophers before and after him. Socrates made fun of fools and sophists.

This is an informal version of a philosophy Q that so many of U informal unschooled philosophers prefer. Is it biological as in genetic? It just comes with your genetic package, does it?

Serial killers, murderers, rapists, druggies, ecetera.. Many of them say they were born this way or that they felt different from everybody else when they were young. Are they placed on this earth to be evil and commit sinful, murderous acts of violence? God has a plan for all of us and I know that everyone has their own freedom of choice but what if some individuals are just born evil? if that is even possible...Yet they are part of God's plan or somebody else's plan that God has for each one of us. And if they are predestined what part do they play in God's plan. And is it possible for them to change their ways and mentally unstable minds?

I am a bit confused- or perhaps I am not- by the logic of the passage in the Phaedo addressing the generation of life from death, and vice-versa.

Socrates addresses Cebes' statement of concern that the soul, after death, simply dissipates, "issuing forth like smoke," and concludes that an underworld or afterlife
must exist- and the souls of the dead remain conscious there- that life can be born from death.

This seems to be terribly flawed conclusion- akin to saying that the underworld is a sort of Tupperware container in which the dead are stored for further regeneration of life. In my understanding, he is not speaking figurately or conceptually- but means that the souls of the dead literally maintain a conscious existence.

My confusion lies in a possible congruency between Cebes original statement- namely the dissipation (or perhaps dissemination) of the soul, as Cebes describes it, is not antithetical to the dead regenerating life.
