I've never really heard one. I'm not sure if anything can truly undermine Peter Singer's concept of 'speciesism'. Since we're in the philosophy section and all, try to give me a philosophical reason. Rather than pointing out the existence of meatball marinaras from Subway, 'cause I know they exist already! Believe me, if anyone convinces me to eat meat I'll go get one right away.

I read an article by Jay Gould against an intelligent designer, claiming that there were ineffective evolutionary producets, and that if there was an intelligent designer there wouldn't have been these ineffective parts of nature. He sited the fact that a Panda's Thumb is not actually a thumb, that and how flowers reproduce isn't effective either, though it's not particularly important to know that for my question.

I need to counter argue this point with a view on Creationism that would go against his view. Any ideas and suggestions?

Everything in the world is a product of conditions that take place on a temporal plane. And time eventually busts up everything. Now,it would seem time is really pretty much all everything consists of - all material mass or energy existing only within a given time horizon. But hey - time has no actual physicality. You can't see it,touch it,taste it,take a picture of it or even snot it off. Does anybody actually know what this stuff is? Another thing : people make such a big deal about not being able to see God,but they accept time without seeing it...and another thing...and another point...which reminds me of something else...wait a second, don't go - this is fun,you can cheat easy as anything by folding multiple questions into "one" - which makes me think of something else, too, now that I think of it - whatever it was...oh...I forget.
I'm having a strange evening.

Science has improved the quality of life for humans, now science wants humans to improve the quality of the planet. Nature made us and nature can destroy us. There is an asteriod that might hit us in about 25 years. Why should I listen to science when it has improved my life by helping destroy it via it's discoveries.

Wonder is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as "the emotion excited by the perception of something novel and unexpected. It includes astonishment mingled with perplexity or bewildered curiosity." It prompts us to consider how particularly vivid displays of vitality, beauty, or power might reveal a purpose or intentionality of the universe as a whole.

It's a book and video now talking about higher forces and how our negative energies get put out into the universe and attract...what else? Negative energy, and by having a positive attitude and being grateful for the things you already have and not focusing on the things we complain about, we can harness positive energy, put that positive energy out into the universe and have our wants and desires fulfilled, based on the law of attraction. Do you believe this is true? Have you tried it? Has it worked for you?

I want to make a homemade pullup stands to do my exercises in. My plan is to get to buckets, put two 7 foot ply woods on each bucket, drain the concrete mix, and finally, insert a bar on top. My question is, how many pounds of concrete mix will i need?, will it hold me?, and how do i go about mixing the concrete with water, pouring it?, and how long will it take to dry? note: the wood is 8inches thick. The buckets are large and wide, about 1 1/2 feet long and about the same in width.I am 6'3 240 pounds
