Everything in the world is a product of conditions that take place on a temporal plane. And time eventually busts up everything. Now,it would seem time is really pretty much all everything consists of - all material mass or energy existing only within a given time horizon. But hey - time has no actual physicality. You can't see it,touch it,taste it,take a picture of it or even snot it off. Does anybody actually know what this stuff is? Another thing : people make such a big deal about not being able to see God,but they accept time without seeing it...and another thing...and another point...which reminds me of something else...wait a second, don't go - this is fun,you can cheat easy as anything by folding multiple questions into "one" - which makes me think of something else, too, now that I think of it - whatever it was...oh...I forget.
I'm having a strange evening.

I have to answer this question because it strikes a chord. Time, you say has no actual physicality. I'm a scientist and at times think differently than those who are not. Time is a dimension equivalent to the three Cartesian dimensions and together they 4 are Space-time. You cant describe the locality of anything relative to "you" (or anything else) without using 4 numbers one of which is time. Note I put you in quotes.

"You" is your consciousness which in order to be requires duration, that is a length of time in which to last. Your consciousness of time creates you! If you don't last you can't be! So isn't it logical to conclude that in space-time its' duration, which is also an integral part of it, creates its' being. That the universe in order to be lasts. And to go one step further, since your consciousness is intimately caused by time then because space time is intimately caused by time it IS CONSCIOUS.

Consciousness has no actual physicality either but IT IS. That the universe ,which is all space-time, is conscious IS BEING FOUND OUT SCIENTIFICALLY through its' action on matter in a manner analogous to the human mind's action on my neurons, which are operating to create this answer. I refer you to two or three volumes which will describe how.

Another way of looking at it is that time is itself the product of the cause and effect relationship of matter. Time is simply a way of measuring the effect that bodies have on each other. If matter and space didn't exist how could time be measured?
Time cannot exist without space and matter. Time and space are in a way of thinking, the same thing. I live 65 miles from my father. I live 1 hour and twenty minutes from my father. Both of these statements represent the same fact.

Time is a very powerful tool and also a very strict and dreadful master. We are slaves to time, time came about when people wanted to create legacies.

Time gives us definition to the billions and billions and billions of moments of existence. It's a very simple concept with almost endless application.

Time killed your ancestors, just remember that. People are dying and maybe time has nothing to do with it, it's just fate. Fate with anomalytical consequences. Things are set in motions and these things rely on each other to happen. Anomalies appear and it all falls apart and then corrects itself.

Yup. I don't make alot of sense.

Time is like light, we can't see it but we can't see without it.To understand time or light or god, etc. you first have to ask yourself, what is Reality. A dream can feel so real, but yet it's not. Our eyes and mind play tricks on so we can't even trust ourselves to define what's time or what's Reality. I think time does exist but no one knows why where and how, is just something our minds cant comprehend...

Actually, time is a byproduct of things that exist. If nothing existed, time wouldn't either. Sort of like the way a vacuum can't exist unless matter exists, or the way darkness doesn't exist without light.

As far as proof of God vs. time, God validates the existence of time. God deferred to time, taking "seven days" to create the universe. He biblically acknowledged time even before he acknowleged existence of the universe. In fact, his greatest gift to you is time-based: "Eternal" bliss in heaven. So the logic that follows: You can believe in time without believing in God, but you can't believe in God without believing in time. (of course, you can disbelieve both, but that wasn't in your question, yet!)

If one chooses, one can believe in time without believing in God. I do feel time pass. Not always perfectly, but my sense of time is far more accurate than my sense of smell. One can certainly measure time's passing, and see the results of it's existence. Since the cells of my body are exchanged for new ones every few days, the only thing that ties the consciousness of my "new" body to my "old" one is time. So there is definitely a natural sensation of time, but not a natural sensation of God (otherwise, one wouldn't need a bible to know of him).
