The Missing

It started innocent
I had no agenda, no wish or desire
Funny how things start to transpire

I don’t know what made it okay
There is something missing, misplaced or unmade

I sit here
There is no tear

There was no intention
I knew from the start
It’s fun to play
Even the sad part

This was something not to do
I should have kept telling you

I didn’t…I couldn’t say it
I needed you to finally say it
But it was my feelings you reflected
And I cursed you when we disconnected

I sit here
There is no tear

The situation is not real
There was never any deal
There is something missing, misplaced or unmade

Your life cannot end for me
Even if we were meant to be
Ms. Smith said it best…
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning

I know you can breathe
I know mine is gone
I know this isn’t as poignant as song

I sit here
And there is no tear

It had only just begun
And I knew I hadn’t won
This is to convince me it’s true
But I can see right through you
There is something missing, misplaced or unmade

So I will sit here with a tear

defination. Are all things what we say they are because of defination? Can anything exist without a defination?

I used to be intelligent and aware, back before I went crazy and lost everything. Now I can't think, I can't feel. I just got married and I have a life but I feel as though I am just cruising through life. I want to reach out and grab hold of some peace and happiness.

I asked my shrink for a diagnosis. She replied 'existential despair'. She tells me that I my mind is shutting down and that is why I can't think. I feel out of control as I never made that decision. I have been through so much and I have a life that should make me happy but I feel so unfulfilled and alone. I want to learn and understand, I want to open my mind but I am caught between the monotony and superficial nature of my day to day life and the pretense that I am happy, the facade that everyone else sees and the darkness in my mind.

It all comes down to a simple question... What the hell do I do now?

Who is smarter?

One who is purely creative? One who gathers his source from a seemingly dark, primitive unconcious source?

Or one who observes the information and resources around him and extracts what he needs. He copies. And sometimes he develops his own formulas. Still, he is a copy cat and a cheat.

Are both people creative? Is one smarter than the other?

I think I am ridding myself of this disease. I live in a city of 1.5 million where this is less than 6 degrees of separation between people. However, I know that people project their own values onto me. My friend asks me when I am going to get a new job (suggesting that my current one isn't prestigious enough), when I'm going to move to one of the elite, sought-after suburbs etc, and why I'm still single which really means "what's wrong with you?". The truth is she's had a lot of her oppotunities handed to her by friends of her family.

How can I give her the message that I don't appreciate these sdubtle put downs and judgments of my worth?

What is it about us that makes us unable to see the forest fro the trees sometimes? I asked a question a little while ago and had some answers that made no sense, the question was about questions had they all been asked not to say anything against but here was one who got hung up on the phrasing of the question and another who answered a completly different question.

This got me thinking about humans are sometimes wrong and don't even know it. As the exprersion goes 'not being able to see the forest for the trees'. Now in simple terms it is easy to get hung up on the small things and miss the bigger picture for obvious reasons, however there are cases where people see the bigger picture and miss what is going on any way.

My question is why do people miss what is going on around them? For example ONLY a man may work to provide for his family and work so much that he misses his kids growing up while another man in the same boat may not. Why?

Please explain your answers.
Thanks

I am working so when i retire i can go on an Africian Safari, however i will retire in my late sixties and by then my back will be akeing and my legs will be all crippled and crackeling. So it is basically pointless for humans to save money for their later years when they are less able in their later years!

What can we do to stop our trend? Any ideas?
