Scientists are working on inventions and innovations that sci-fi fans have read about for decades before the technology was available. So, I'm curious....do you think this is the normal progression of technology or is our future being molded by the minds of sci-fi authors? If there were no sci-fi novels ever written, would we be looking at a completely different world with different, or even stunted, technology?

Would you stop one life for another? Could you say that one life is less important then another?

This is a work in progress... can you think of anything I can add to this... it is for a posting I am working on...
Thanks.

Gentle... the brush of your lover's fingers across your face...

Steady... as the beating of your two hearts

Firm... the rock you rest upon during the storms

Calm... the embrace that washes away all fears

Sure... the hand that never lets go....

Hi guys, well, it's me again. The 16 year old who was all ready to ask a guy out. I went into the store today and when i was about to walk up to the guy, i met a group of friends and a boy in this group told me that he knew this person i was planning to ask out and revealed facts about him which are ridiculous: He is extremely sarcastic and a sexist, he is 25, has only ever had two girlfriends, is proud of watching porn, lost his virginity at 23 and they basically told me that i don't want to go there. This person is very honest and one of his friends could confirm everything about him. I was disappointed to say the least...he seemed such a lovely, sweet guy and u know, for a few minutes after i left my friends, i wanted to convince myself that it wasn't true and that i should have talked to him anyway and found out myself, but if everything is true, then i guess it's better to have found out the easy way and saved myself the heartbreak...I lost 2 nights of sleep over this guy and...

I was in a hospital the other day and I almost lost it. Even in this greatest nation on God's green earth there is tremendous suffering. The hour approaches where we all shall draw our last breath. When death comes for you and if it is asked, have you lived, what will be your answer?

Can you, if you are a discriminator/racist, justify your views? Logically and rationally, relevant facts, and WITHOUT racist slurs? Since there are so many people who are discriminatory/racist, I figure there must be a very good reason. So tell it to me.

Is it about travelling all over the world and experiencing new things? Or is it closer to home spending time with friends and family? Is it about trying to be as successful as possible in your career and status and finances? Is it about doing exciting things like skydiving or bungie-jumping? Is it about learning all there is to know about the earth and universe, and gazing at the stars? Is it about waking up everyday with the person you love?

How will you define whether or not you've had a full life...

i'm a little lost on this, because of consequences.
here are some defintions i got from dictionary.com

1. the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint
2. exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc.
3. the power to determine action without restraint.

to me it seem like freedom is just myth, or an idea. if anyone could give me some insight on this that would be great! =)

I'm thinking that freedom isn't 100%, that we as humans can never be truely free.
