I have had a life moto: Never do things just because you can! I believe this reasoning can sepparate a man from an animal (but it is certain that we all have parts of our animal origin within - urges, affects, etc.). This looks simple, but in more than one ocasion, it wasn't! Sometimes it meant that I must supress my ego (which is the size of, well, about Asia!) and this was hard, but I managed. Sometimes it involved sex partners, and... Well, a man IS a man, after all! For me, it can really be a huge task not to do things just because I simply can, and every time I fulfill this task, I learn a new thing about my will power, and, which is indeed very precious for life, about other people and handling situations rationally. That's as far as I got overcoming myself.

Why would you want to overcome yourself. Then you wouldn't be you.

No. I like myself - nothing to overcome.

Have you overcome yourself?
How? what?

YES. I found that my "self" was actually just an accumulation of mental and material factors that I conventionally call self, however non-existant as an integrated inherent self.

So I overcame myself and proved I do not exist as such.

I'm in a transitional place at the moment so am working on it.

Almost...through prayer and faith in God. It is the only way for me to do that.
