Put another way, if the USA had followed the Christian concept of forgiveness, for example, before and during World War II, would Americans now be living under Nazi German/ Imperialistic Japanese rule? Therefore, if an ethical concept is impractical on an international level, why is it valid and practical on an individual level?

Might it be the case that men are primarily driven by impulse or desire rather than unselfish love? As long as they can satisfy some desire, they are "in love" with a mate. But this love is hardly ever unselfish? This is a question about the philosophy of human nature.

Wounds don't heal if you keep picking at it. Forgiveness is the most divine gift we have, why don't we as a society exersise it more? Dosen't evil only have power if you give some to it? I don't want my kids to grow up thinking they are bad or oppresive simply because they were not born a minority. Please help.

I refuse to let go of my anger. Within me there is a man who is more than willing to act out violently when provoked. I know how I can stop being so angry, it is as simple as stopping, my problem is finding the motivation to let go of the anger. As Ecclesiastes states, “all is vanity”. I have rooted my ego from all of its other hiding places, fear, doubt, worry, yet from this last refuge it has taken, anger, I cannot seem to extract him. He taunts me. “How can you let them get away with that?” “Do you see how close they are tailgating you? If you do not stop this car and take a bat to that driver’s head you are a coward!” This devil so beguiles me. Any words of advice?

ok, so i can't say i really have a best friend or anything like that because I have high standards when it comes to determening who that is and a perfect situation for that is always when things are not that easy. now i'm learning not to depend on anyone on absolutely anything because it gets me down when i realize what i didn't want to. acquaintances are fine, i have those, but friends in the real sense of the word, i do not have.

There are a load of sinics out there who believe that when we die we just fall into a endless sleep. What proof do we have? I believe there is more proof of a after life or reincarnation! What do you reckon?

When I was growing up my parents would not allow me to make any decions and it has really messed me up. I need to figure out where to live, how to live, etc. and can't decide. HELP!!!! What do I base my decisions on when there is a universe full of choices?????

According to Aquinas there are four kinds of law (Eternal, Natural, Human, and Divine). In some ways Human Law and Divine Law appear to complement one another: the former governing our external actions (what can be observed by others), the latter governing our internal thoughts/intentions (what others cannot see). Are these two laws equally important or is one or the other more essential to our fulfillment as human beings? Explain. Thanks! :)

Money is power, it is universally loved and respected, it acts as a more consistent bridge between people than love, family or religion (I mean in reality rather than fairy tale). It sounds like God trying to make us all work together... any thoughts.

While playing soccer with my friends during a rainy day, I fell on a maddy water, when I stood up, the whole world has changed, the buildings are all broken down. I looked at myself, I was half naked and I had a sword at my back. I looked back and saw my friends they all look so strong and one of them had wings. Everything changed so fast, I dont know why but I was going on a journey to save a girl, the girl lives in a broken huge building at the top, its like an apartment thats broken down, nothing inside no stairs its empty, but at the top there a little window and there is beatiful lady inside, I fought the monsters, I climbed the building, then the beautiful lady gave me a little string to hold, then she pulled me inside that little window. The lady wore white clothing, she looks so beautiful she is like the light . After that the lady open a door for me, inside the door theres a light. ..Right after that I woke up, =(...I dont know why I had that dream and I dont know what it mean

Sure, some news can be very helpful, but isn't most of it just a frenzy of gossip that doesn't really affect our lives for the better? Why are we constantly drawn to know "the latest?"
