I agree. they make it so hard for people to adopt here that people get frustrated and go elsewhere. I think crime rate and drug use will even go down if unwanted children find loving homes right here in our own country. It's just like our foreign policy which allows other governments like Israel to get billions from us due to their strong lobby in DC while our own citizens could use the domestic help not to mention we could use lower taxes that are paying for these "generosities".

Well, for the most part the children in overseas nations which we adopt from are far worse off than those in the US. With that said, I think that overall we need to take better care of our own kids of course. I think we're already setting a good example by reaching out to those in greater need, but ultimately there are a lot of things we should be doing with our resources as a nation that we are simply not doing, especially when it comes to our children.

Well, you can say love the world but love your neighbors more or love the whol world indiscriminately. I don't think either is wrong, whatever makes someone else tick is fine with me.

Now where I DO have a problem is when the GOVT spends money abroad, like giving $2 billion in aid to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia!!!! While children in the US have no health care.

In Saudi Arabia, if you have children, the govt gives you a stipend. No questions asked. Americans are generally against welfare (not me as a rule). Yet we aid a country that does that exact thing!

I believe it's a persons decision as to who they want to adopt. It is true that there are many American children that need homes. Many want babies but there are older children who need a good loving home too.
There are many countries where families want the boys but not the girls. This is so sad. So maybe the girls are put up for adoption from other countries.
So in one way I agree with you and in another way I disagree.

I believe all children deserve a safe, secure home with loving parents to raise them and provide for them. There are so many needy children...do not condemn anyone for adopting wherever they find a path to do so.

Years and years ago, when my husband and I were still young enough to consider adopting a child, we encountered this argument in reverse from African - American friends of ours who believed we should not even try to adopt across racial lines. Only one person, a totally blessed woman in every way, told me what I tell you: if your heart is big enough for an adopted child, it doesn't matter where he or she comes from...you are doing a good thing.

I believe that we should help ouselves before we help others. I dont mean this in a greedy or selfish way, but we should take care of our of country and its people first. Think of it this way if an american aboriginal was adopted by a Britian they are tought britian values and will most likely lose the knowledge of their ancestry and vales. If an oboriginal is adopted by any one in the states they are more likely to learn about their own culture and even more likely if they are adopted by some one in the same tribe. How can we help others if we cant help our selves.
