Like most people say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, meaning that the definition and exemplification of beauty differs from person to person.
I would say something classed as beautiful, is something which entertains your senses in a positive way. Something or someone which touches your heart and your visceral nerve, and makes you feel uplifted.
People have given examples of 'beautiful people' and these differ from person to person. What one person things is attractive in somebody, another may not. What one person thinks is ugly, another may think is beautiful because it really appeals to them. And it isn't just limited to looks; mannerisms, personal qualities, even so-called 'deformities' can be classed as beautiful.
Other things you can see could include a lovely beach or a well made building (I really like colourful Art Deco buildings).
Sounds can be classed as beautiful: a great song, a baby laughing, gentle ocean waves washing upon a beach.
Things you can touch or feel can be beautiful: I love kissing and cuddling! My Dad hates the feel of velvet but I know people who love it.
Something you taste can also be beautiful but may be described in another way. Possibly gorgeous or wonderful. Think well made ice cream, or shepherds pie, or the first pint of beer you have drunk in a while.
The same goes for smells. You may not describe them as beautiful, but may instead say something like lovely. I like the smell of crocuses and tulips after a thunderstorm. Several of my ladyfriends like the smell of Joop aftershave.

A lot of how we define beauty is due to our culture. Different areas have very different ideas of what is beautiful.
I think the best way to define it is 'what is beautiful is what pleases you, what you find harmonious'. It does vary from person to person and because the person A finds something beautiful but person B doesn't think it is beautiful does not mean it isn't beautiful because it is to A.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. People varies the standard of beauty because of this. Each individual may classify beauty according to their taste or preferences. For me beauty is within.

I think it's true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is pleasing to one person may mean nothing to someone else because each is looking from a different aspect.

Beauty is subjective. What is classed as "Beautiful" really depends on you and your perspective of beauty. I find the sun rising over Mt. Hood to be a beautifully, spellbinding sight. It is as they say "Beauty is in the eye of the holder." There are many different definitions of beauty. There's classical beauty, natural beauty, and artificial beauty. There's the beauty one sees when they look at another person and realize what a awe-inspiring spirit they have. There is the beauty one finds in looking at a rose. There is the beauty one sees when they gaze upon their beloved. What do you classify as "beautiful"?

All in the world recognize the beautiful as beautiful.
Herein lies ugliness.
All recognize the good as good.
Herein lies evil.
Therefore
Being and non-being produce each other.
Difficulty and ease bring about each other.
Long and short delimit each other.
High and low rest on each other.
Sound and voice harmonize each other.
Front and back follow each other.
Therefore the wise abides in the condition of not acting on the subject.
And carries out the wordless teaching.
Here, the myriad things are made, yet not separated.
Therefore the wise produces without possessing,
Acts without expectations
And accomplishes without abiding accomplishments.
It is precisely because the wise do not abide in them
That they never leave.

On a physical note, its the beholder, but on a deeper note its "LOVE" that a person carries inside them. Love is so beautiful and its beauty is talked about by everyone

To me: their outside & indside. What I mean by this, and it's not too hard to understand, is someone could be the hottest thing ever but be the biggest a** as well. If they have a bad personality, I won't even give them a second thought except to think "Wow, he's so unnattractive because of his personality". Ya know?
