There are alot of good answers so far, but dont forget to trust your common sense. You first thought, dont over think or re think, chances are u do have the decission skills you are just an over thinker and need to retrain and trust your opions. make a goame out of it with some friends. They give you a problem and 2 choices. If you dont pick the logical one, somthing happens, eat somthing gross or tell a fear, those kind of things. make it fun, but you will be learning to trust your own instincts.

My wife had a very similar upbringing. She complained about it all of the time and accused me of being just like her parents.
She said that I took responsibility for everything and never left her make any decisions.
I left her be in charge of the money and bill paying. She decided how the money got spent. Before long I came home and there was no power. It had been shut off because the bill had not been paid for 4 months. Similarly all of the other bills were as far behind.
She told me that there was just not enough money to pay the bills, so I started to pay them.
In a few months all of them were caught up and we had money to spare. This was apparently a good lesson for her because she began to become more responsible. Now she handles all of her own personal finances, and makes fairly good decisions most of the time.
It was not easy but for the most part She overcame the poor judgment her parents used when she was young.
There is hope but you need to work at it. Baby steps first.
Love and blessings Don

Actually picture where you want to be in like two years or more and work towards that. Like if you have a job you really like look for a place to live near your job. Look at different people you admire and see what lifestyle they have and use them for an example.
Often even when I make decisions they don't work out. Like I could spend a month trying to get something accomplished and then everything falls in place and it is a totally different direction than what I worked hard toward so with some things don't stress on them too much because things have a way of working out.

Indecision affects all of us, at one time or another. I had a friend, once, who was so indecisive that she couldn't even pick out her own clothes!
It might help if you make a plan...say a one month plan, to begin with. Just write down what you plan to do in the next month...then write down the steps you need to take to do it. If you think of it as a school assignment, and do it objectively, you can look back at it every few days, and keep yourself moving forward. After a while, you'll get so used to it, that decision making should become easier.
Take small steps. Don't try to figure it out all at once. A little at a time, one decision at a time......
like this...
Finally, quit worrying about it so much. The more stressed you get, the worse its gonna be. Relax, one thing at a time...and remember to congratulate yourself when you accomplish even the smallest goals.

It is our choices that define the person we are. You must decide what type of person you want to be in order to make the correct decisions. Your parents didn't do this to you...you have. Think. Then make your decision. Think...is this the right thing to do. Or, is this mean spirited? Who will benefit and why? Who will this hurt?
Now, if you can't decide things like "McDonalds or Burger King" then you just need to cut and run....you can't go wrong (or right) with either. Just pick something.

Money, Money
from the musical: Cabaret
Money makes the world go around,
the world go around, the world go around,
Money makes the world go around,
it makes the world go round.
A mark, a yen, a buck or a pound,
a buck or a pound, a buck or a pound,
Is all that makes the world go around,
that clinking clanking sound,
Can make the world go round.
If you happen to be rich, and you feel like a night's entertainment,
You can pay for a gay escapade.
If you happen to be rich, and alone and you need a companion,
You can ring ting-a-ling for the maid.
If you happen to be rich and you find you are left by your lover,
Tho you moan and you groan quite a lot,
You can take it on the chin,
call a cab and begin to recover on your fourteen carat yacht.
Money makes the world go around,
the world go around, the world go around,
Money makes the world go around,
of that we both are sure.
(Raspberry) On being poor.
When you haven't any coal in the stove and you freeze in the winter
And you curse to the wind at your fate.
When you haven't any shoes on your feet and your coat's thin as paper
And you look thirty pounds underweight,
When you go to get a word of advice from the fat little pastor,
he will tell you to love evermore.
But when hunger comes to rap, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, at the window
See how love flies out the door.
For money makes the world go around, the world go around,
the world go around.
Money makes the world go around,
the clinking, clanking sound
of Money, money, money, money,
Money, money, money, money,
Get a little, get a little,
Money, money, money, money,
Mark, a yen, a buck or a pound,
That clinking, clanking clunking sound
is all that makes the world go round,
It makes the world go round.

You're afraid to choose beacuse it might be wrong and make a big mess of things. Take a deep breath and choose what looks best to you at the moment and then plunge ahead. Look at it as an exciting adventure. You don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy it.

No need to panic friend.. we all faced such a problem. try ur best in choosing the decision that will comfort you in future and self-satisfy you. try to search for the good points and bad points in everything and compare them and it's okay if your decisions weren't perfect. As long as u made this decision yourself, that's a gr8 thing !!

Go out and make random decisions. Re-learn how to make them by forcing yourself into choosy positions (make sure there not that important).

Your decision must always be based on the wisdom given by God. So you can choose the best.
James 1:5 But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
