By using the knowledge and experiences of others we can go on to doing better, disproving the knowledge or experience if we so choose.

If we did not have the foundation of knowledge and experiences of others we would not achieved the level of civilization that we have.

When we learn about atrocities that have been committed we look to analyze and understand and try to prevent repetitive behaviors.

We should appreciate what went before so the after can be better.

All the information received through organs of perception
is knowledge. All learning through incidences and through
others is also knowledge. We start storing this knowledge in
the brain right from our childhood.

In English, 'flourit' means the age of flowering or
dawning of wisdom; it also means the age of 40.
(See a multi-volume dictionary in a library).
The faculty of mind 'intellect' starts functioning from this age.

Progress of knowledge depends on learning and expanding upon the work and experience of others. Just as a professional athlete would review films of themselves and opponents, a good thinking mind reviews all the relevant data and makes conclusions based on their own experience and tests.

You can say that but getting knowledge from what has been proven or has evidences are also knowledge to be consider. Maybe you mean discovering the knowledge by yourself. Of course any little experiences we have will reflect knowledge.

Knowledge= awareness of facts (the arrangement of matter and energy in any given point in the universe, with or without witness by any being) and principles (rules that govern what will transpire when matter and energy interact in certain ways).
Intelligence= the ability to discern for oneself knowledge of facts and principles.
