I asked this question of my students the other day and would like to ask what others think, in order to give my students a better understanding of public thought.

What if you were on an archealogical expedition in some far off ancient wonder and you found some artifact which proved that everything is alive and every thought ever made is rational even though we don't always try to think rationally? What if you discovered something which proved that emotion, participation, and organization were all natural and that regardless of the moral consequences, everything ever done fell in line with the universe's natural course of events?

What would you do if you found the key to success, but knew in your heart of hearts that it would never ever turn in the keyhole it was meant for because in front of that door was a gap or a chasm so large that it could never be crossed in a million years? What would you do?

i'd like to hear from people who can relate to my question (i'm talking of course ab. romance) and do not confuse it with self-love, friends & family, career & hobbies.

i also believe not everyone is blessed with this (sadly).

I know that many religious people take solace in the idea heaven after death . And even those who don't neccessarily believe in heaven but believe there's *something* and not just nothing do too. Well, how do people like me who are agnostic deal with this ? I don't believe in nothing, but not something either. I get a little anxious when just thinking about there could be nothing I don't see how any person can deal with believing there's nothing at all afterwards and not become extremely bothered. Thoughts? And no preachy stuff either please.

I sometimes stop and think about how absolutely phenomenal the Earth is - the oceans, the mountains, the trees, grass, flowers - just the formation in general. Also, the huge variety of animals - from the tiniest ant to the largest whale. Isn't all so amazing? Isn't amazing how humans just work and click? How women and men just fit together perfectly, how we can reproduce, how we can talk, think and feel? I probably sound like I'm on crack to you guys but I just find it all so mind-boggling! Anyone agree?

lately i have been having anxiety over the feeling that nothing is real and everything is just an illusion and everyone i have ever known and loved is just a hallucination.

or in philisophical terms: solipsism.

however i am reading a book that basicaly disproves the theory and proves that ther are without a doubt other minds that you co-exist with. but the only reason the theory is proved infallible is because you cant actualy experience an others conciousness.

but how else do i know that everything is actualy real?? the feeling of this unreality is common in anxiety sufferers but the feeling feels so real and if its truth.

life just is so bizzare sometimes and just feels so weird.
