lately i have been having anxiety over the feeling that nothing is real and everything is just an illusion and everyone i have ever known and loved is just a hallucination.

or in philisophical terms: solipsism.

however i am reading a book that basicaly disproves the theory and proves that ther are without a doubt other minds that you co-exist with. but the only reason the theory is proved infallible is because you cant actualy experience an others conciousness.

but how else do i know that everything is actualy real?? the feeling of this unreality is common in anxiety sufferers but the feeling feels so real and if its truth.

life just is so bizzare sometimes and just feels so weird.

I don't think you are having a Anxiety Attack.
Have you been into heavy drugs in the past,
or are you still?? Your mind has broken down
somewhat, and you need some serious help.
A good doctor will probably give you some
anti-depression or anti- hallucination drugs.
Keep taking them and going to therapy, until
you at least feel like you are walking on a
real street. You have burnt up most of your
thinking ability...it will take some serious time
to heal and get back on track. Good Luck....
Don't give up, I doubt you will be able to get
better on your own. You're not suffering from
Solipsism, you're just Paranoid.

A philosophical question indeed. What is real? Just because we can see, touch, taste, hear if (etc...) dosen't make it real. All these stimulations release certain chemicals in the body that send messages to the brain and nerve centers etc... Having a vivid dream can produce exactly the same results.

In summary, no one can prove of disprove what and what is not real.

If I'm whistling a tune here, and you can't hear it - does that mean it's not real?

However, Society in general seems to have certain pre-conditions that define reality. If you fall outside this 'society-built' boundary, then perhaps a consultation may be helpful.

If it is an illusion what difference does it make? Have you ever had a dream where you were in love with someone and when you woke up you realized it was a dream but you still felt like you loved that person? Well within a few hours you have let it go. If it turns out to be false so be it, you will let that go too.

I have that, too. Illusions and hallucinations are great. What is real? What is. Real?

If everything is an illusion and its only you out there, make everything better right away because you're the only one who can.

Have you seen The Matrix? That's what that whole movie's about.

By the way, are you tripping by chance?

I know how you feel, anyway. All we can really go by are our senses and judgement and knowing absolute truth from that has been proven fallible throughout history over and over again.

Are you serious? If you can taste it, touch it, smell it, then I would say its real. Just because something is written in a book, doesnt make it true. Maybe you need some medication.

You're experiencing your own inner state of being as it looks out across your mind. Don't get all freaked out about it. Stick to what you know and try and analyze what is going on. The most important thing to do is to control your mind and take care of your feelings. You're in for a wild ride.

Have fun.

Well ,if you divide everything, you get one reality and one unreality. As there can't be another reality hidden inside reality, there can't be another unreality inside unreality. There can only be unreality inside reality and vice verse. If you can identify in your surrounding life any trace of unreality, as small as it might be (like dreams, imagination, false hopes etc), that must mean you are living in reality. I hope it helps..

The Matrix?? hahaha insane!...

Well I myself have felt that way ... so I really know what you mean!!!.... But it's true ...all this that people are telling you... get out,.. don't get stuck over your head or ideas... then you'll begin to think you're crazy... trust me.. I went through all that...

Best thing to do here... Is get out,.. enjoy life,... travel,... don't be inside the house too long by yourself... it gets to you.

...but I really believe you cause it happened to me... so I know how you feel... and I know what goes through your mind...

it's pretty insane haha i should know.
