the conflict in the play is between a bad method and a value? The value is that of Antigone: She wants to show respect to the corpse of her brother. The bad method is that of Creon: He thinks he should severly punish even the dead to protect the state.

Dont you think that a tragedy requires two goods to conflict. Hamlet fights against evil. He doesnt strive for a value. Vendetta isnt something good. His uncle is not good, too

I jave believed in reincarnation for a long time but hearing about it is not the same as having it happen in your own home. Someone I know has told me about if that was very close to me because they live with someone who was. Well now I live with someone who was,1 to 3 year old children can't lie they can only tell you what they feel, think and remember,,,It is a real eye opener.

role does faith play in philosophy? Isn't all knowledge based upon something else? Does there come a point where truth cannot be questioned? And if so, then how can that point be percieved, and integrated, into any being that seeks after it without becoming the essence of that truth? When we become that truth; what will our perspective be like then? Will we be able to remain a sepatate part of it and be able to tell others about it? I guess what I want to know is, "Is faith (a tangible part of being), what it is that we all are seeking? --- lots of questions, i know, but; are we seeking something tangible, or intangible; and what is the nature of it?

shouldn't truth contain, or be a part of, or related to, non-truth?

My real question is, "Is philosophy nothing more than a dance of, 'If...then' statements? Is philosophy meant to find the answers to questions, or create more of them? If this is true, then why even bother asking in the first place? I'm wondering about the eventuality of questions and answers; where does it lead us?

Explain briefly, why he continues to let children be murdered, raped, innocent peole to suffer for the wrong doing of others. If their is this "God" Hoe pitiful it must be to believe in something that would sit back and allow this to happen, If you use the God gave everyone free will crap! That doesn't excuse the senseless abuse!

It seems to me that "evil" is a purely relative term. Whenever I think of evil, I think of someone like Hitler. However, in Hitlers mind, he thought of himself as a hero and he honestly believed that he was doing the right thing. So why wouldnt he do what he thought was right? People that supported Hitler didnt see him as evil, they saw him as a hero. (note: i am not pro nazi...Hitler is disgusting)

But i simply wonder, what is good? what is evil? is there really any difference?

I have this evolution-based idea that if we could learn to always do what best promotes the survival of our genes, we would be happy all the time, as our inner reward system would constantly have good reason to keep us happy (as it wants us to stay on the right track). The response I get when I present this idea is nearly always something like "If we never suffer, we can never be happy either". But if that's true, then if you have been happy for so long that you can't be happy anymore (suppose it is such a long time since you suffered), it should be a good idea to torture yourself in order to become able to be happy again?! But nobody I know of would intentionally torture themselves for that purpose!! Not even when they, as they put it, "have been happy for too long to enjoy it". So people actually don't seem to believe in their own formula (that you have to suffer sometimes in order to be able to be happy). Do people simply don't see how hypocritical they are by living like that?
