I can see that I live my life this way and I hear wiser people talk about life actually not being like that, but how do you change such a fundamental paradigm? It seems like to do that I would have to rewrite my life, my motives, and my dreams...and I like the way I am, sort of...see even now it's the way I am, verses the possibility of enlightenment.

ARE the problem? What if you, me and "they" are all responsible for this earth's state? Maybe, *just maybe* we should listen to what the "enemy" is saying. Maybe we CAN get along. Maybe we do have hope for a better future. Maybe...we are so caught up with "them" that we've forgotten about "us". What if...our own problems root from *ourselves* Maybe...we should re-evaluate ourselves. And maybe then, just maybe...if we all put forth a conceited effort we can...make this world prosper to the full extent of our capacities. Envision an ideal future with me here...and just know that *we* will end up either being tomorrow's problems or tomorrow's success because ultimately every today will become a tomorrow. And today is the day *we* need to make a change--a change to be more tolerant (even if they dont deserve your ear, lend them it) Today...is the day..to prepare for tomorrow...and *we* are today :-)

Something has been bothering me, and I was hoping to get some other opinions on the matter. I know we all have our fears.....but do you let them controll your life? Some say it's better to be safe then sorry, but living a life full of "what if's" seems sad. Do you believe in taking the safest route to work , wearing your seat belt, and going the speed limit will keep you safe if a drunk driver smashes into you ? I suppose what I am trying to say is do you believe that we all will die when it's our time or that we should try to protect ourselves in this life to buy as much time as we can?

What do we really need to survive: Air, water, food, shelter or protection from the weather, the sun and this planet that holds us all. The absence of any one of these, will mean the end our existence for sure. Without gold and money, nothing will physically happen to us. But what do you think will happen? Would the things that we do in our everyday life still make sense?

Help! can you tell me a good metaphor and give me advices on to drawing a picture or a graphic that illustrates the metaphor and a good plot that has something to do with the metaphor? Thank-you a metaphor is when you compare two things (an abstract noun with a concrete noun) without using "like" or "as" an example is like this: "imagination is a pencil, it creates anything the heart desires."

Because there was no mention of it in the Bible. I told her the people that wrote the Bible didn't know about freaking CHINA let alone other planets so it's not a very good guide to this subject. The universe is far too vast for mankind to be alone in it, even without solid proof, just logic and common sense. She said any aliens we might encounter were actually demons. I changed the subject. We *can't* be alone, can we?

I know that Atheists don't believe in gods or goddesses and that you cease to exist upon death but is there a term for an Atheist who doesn't believe in god but does believe in a soul or spirit?
