It's not sad at all, there are kids on here that want objective advice in other words, not from their parents. Young women who still want to be liked and be popular, people with children asking others for advice about raising children. Some sarcastic smart a$$es were talking about how they laugh at people on here giving answers that are serious, some questions are serious, some aren't. I have had good advice from other participants when I ask a question , then turn around and try to prove answerer's wrong. You're giving opinions in many cases and in this venue, you have to let people express themselves , or don't ask the question. I love this site and there sure are million worse things on the Internet that people could get involved with.

I have to admit that I'm hooked too. At first it was only a mild curiosity, something to wile away a couple hours other than surfing. But now I find I'm on it daily. Or nightly, as the case may be. I try to avoid the really far out questions, the ones you know are meant only to enrage, not inspire. Especially the religious fanatics. But sometimes I cannot resist if the question is especially stupid and I have a good come-back. You know how that sometimes is. Now when I first come on, I vote on undecided questions. Not so much to earn points but to see whose answers hit the mark. Some are subjective and have no right or wrong answers and those I avoid. And maybe it is sad, in a way. That we haven't anything better to do with ourselves late at night than answer anonymous questions. But it isn't a bad thing if you approach it in a positive manner. Is it?

Yes, in that I've managed to Communicate with, and Learn so very much from People all over the World. Also, with My Avatar, I have shown Photographic Proof that Gasoline can be safely converted to Propane. So What ? This is Proof Positive that even the largest SUV could get 50 + MPG, and Emit 10 X less Polluting Exhaust Emissions ! And thanks in Part to Al Gore, it's illegal to even attempt to do so with any Gasoline Powered Vehicle in the USA built from ' 96 to the Present ! 14.7 Parts of Air to 1 Part of Fuel is the Law ! Vaporized Propane Fuel is 100 Parts of Air to 1 Part of Fuel !! Go to this Site http://energy21.freeservers.com/bookrep.html for even more ! And Check out My 360 Page ! Its been really great. At first I was just foolin around answering health and fitness related questions. But because people were becoming totally drawn to the fact that some one was offering free health and fitness advice as well as menus and diet plans, I developed a blog--Just for those people!
Because of Y!Answers I've been able to be more helpful in this world!

I spend an hour or two a day on the philosophy questions and really enjoy the mental exercise some of the questions create. Others are just funny or kinda sad.

I'm with you. It has shown me a whole wide world of human emotions and insights. 99% is so honorable. Then, of course, there's that other 1 % who thinks we gave a rat's buttocks about their perverted toilet habits or demented lifestyles. But I truly love reading the questions and answers from people ALL OVER THE WORLD who just want to be helpful. It has totally restored my faith in mankind. Thanks for asking this question. See you tomorrow on the boards !!! :)

It's introduced me to the fact most atheists are just as stupid and ignorant as the blindly religious. I also come here often in the hopes of being able to help people.
Plus some of the ignorance is just drop dead funny.

It has made me realize the vast array of opinions and perspectives that exist in the world. It has been interesting to see various outlooks and beliefs and attitudes. It gives me a glimpse into the psyches of others and has broadened my own perspective in that way.
