One may have spent just 15-20 years before migrating to another place where one leads the entire adult life - where one contributes to the society and draws from the society - and yet the special feeling for the place of birth not only continues, but also grows with age. Also it does not become out of mind due to being out of sight.
Can some one provide an in-depth analysis of the reasons for this please?

I notice that Western Civilization managed to get great success due to the fact that we encourage open debate and philosophy. Actually, a lot of the advancement of Western Civilization is thanks to free speech.

Does anyone think that Asia will one day reach the stage where open debate and philosophy (free speech) is accepted?

Personally, i feel that life's greatest tragedy is the fascination people have with death. So many people think about it constantly that they actually forget to live. They're so worried about when it's going to happen that they don't even think about what they want to do in between.

If we take out greek philosophy and christianity, western civilization is pretty much left with only one thing: technique and science. Now, technique and science has existed in all civilizations, but this one has the luck to have it more advanced than others. So, isn't western civilization actually pretty young, isn't most of the real work yet to be done?
