Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are, or who you might want to become. You never know who these people may be, possibly your roommate, neighbor, professor, long lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger. You know at the moment they will affect your life in some profound way. Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but, on reflection, you find that without overcoming these obstacles you would have never realized your potential, your strength, your willpower, or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance, or good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet who affect your life and the success and downfalls you experience help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they probably provide the most poignant and important lessons. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things that you would have never seen or felt without them. Make everyday count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love...in the name of love

Love is a powerful but foolish emotion born out of liking and proximity, not necessarily physical.

It is a powerful emotion since it has the ability to make us sacrifice our self interests for the sake of the beloved. For the same reason, it is foolish too when viewed objectively.

Love is an influence that widens the boundary we draw around our self so as to include the beloved also within the same limits. This is why if one can love all, one can attain a magnanimity that is akin to the sublime happiness

There is a difference though between love and unconditional Love. Unconditional Love is loving all things, everything with faults and accepting that all things are different but love them all equally regardless.
The more enlightened souls of our planet would be ones to love more so unconditionally. Because they have gotten past what makes others see differences, they see a place and purpose for everything that exists.
So Love would be a lower form than unconditional, because how many people do you know that have been in domestic violence situation and have been told by their abuser that they love them and are sorry for what they did, this is not unconditional Love.

Love is putting other people first. Jesus said, "No greater love can a man have but that he lay down his life for his friends." When you would put them first even to the point of dying for them, that's real love. People think that love is this lovey feeling that makes them feel good. That's a response when someone loves you. That's my final answer.

~Love~
What a word to be used or said.. I Believed it's compromised with lots of mixed feelings like commitments, tenderness, fondness, predilection, warmth, concern.. Loving someone made me to be able to endure any negative emotional regards towards her.. Making me to give the best out of everything that i could ever give just to see her smile.. Being willing to share all her sorrows and try always to be there for her in times for her needs.. Love is what means a person to feels alive of.. Haha..

Love is something that can't be defined by the general by but oneself. For love means differently for different people. But one thing is for sure, love is a feeling that brings joy and it is one of the greatest gift God has given us.

devotion, caring, commitment, faithfulness, peak of happiness being around the person u love, forgiving, hanging on together through good and bad, being there for each other, listening to each other, sharing the same interests even though if they're not interesting to u, thinking about the person u love always, remembering that person always, and finally wishing to love ur lifetime with him/her

"A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave."

"Love never claims, it ever gives. Love ever suffers, never resents never revenges itself."

"Justice that love gives is a surrender, justice that law gives is a punishment."

Sorry.....but could not be as creative as Mahatma Gandhi. He has summarized what love means in a very beautiful way and I am in full agreement with him.
