I read this once in a film studies course, but no longer remember the specific terms or any relevent quotes. It's important to me because I interpret genre through the lens of comparative mythology, whereas most tend to focus on things like visual style.

For example, the vampire genre in my view speaks to Jungian archetypes, and therefore the vampire does not need to have pointy teeth; but others might say the vampire genre is strictly defined by monsters with pointy teeth and all subtext is merely stylistic choice or "flourish" within the genre. These are very contrasting views.

But it's difficult to speak intelligently on the subject when I can't remember what these two opposing views of genre are called.

If you can figure out how I got to about proving from the stament below you will get the ten points.

I will only leave you with this hint:
time is only the calculation of movement through space.

Witch would mean space is infinte as long as it exists in a certain postion.
Thank's to all the smart people who answer this question.

We have come so far from back in the days of Monkeys and Apes. What is the next step? Will we fly like birds or use telepathy like Aliens? What do you think the next step is and when will it happen?

While doing research on social programs it was noted that the definition of half-truth, truth and lie were incomplete. Why ?

http://www.m-w.com/

Your current definition of 'half-truth' states the following:

Main Entry: half-truth

1 : a statement that is only partially true
2 : a statement that mingles truth and falsehood with deliberate intent to deceive

Those two refer to a similar type of half-truth, and there is also:

3. A statement that is true but is not the whole truth. Example: "Men are doctors."

4. A literal half of a truth. Example: "We are all equal before God", is replaced with 'we are all equal'.

5. A true statement that has incorrect punctuation. " He is a liar?" , is replaced with "he is a liar !"

6. Two statements that are true but are out of a proper time sequence.

7. A statement made out of time. Example: It is now 12:00 noon.

A half-truth can be a truth, that is a lie. A lie can be a truth.

Do you think dogs can sense if someone is good or bad?
All dogs love me, I think that is because they know I am a nice human being.
But some people are just disliked by all dogs. Is that because the dog knows they are evil or were an evil person in a past life, or are dogs just crazy?

I think dogs know all sorts of things us mere humans could never understand.
Never trust anyone who is snarled at by a dog.

Should god be extremely powerful by human standards though not omnipotent or omniscient, would he somehow not qualify as god?

Couldn't god have been someone who has the ability to create and direct the world aound us without the ability to absolutely dictate present and the future?

Why shouldn't god have his own follies, likes and dislikes, strength and weakness?

By boxing god into omnipotent and omniscient we make him into someone who couldn't care less about the insignificant us.

However a god who is less than omnipotent and omniscient could still be powerful enough to pervade and influence our lives and could be one that craves for us to love him and worship him and is benevolent to his believers and either malevolent or indifferent to his non-believers.

Such a god could have created the universe and may be directing it without completely controlling it.

What would be the problem in accepting such a god?
