Sad thing to say we wouldn't have quite the quality of life (tangibly) we have now. Most of the medical and technological advances we have made in the last 150 years have been propelled by wartime efforts. One great thing that is not attributed to wartime merit is windows, but would we have the PC if the govt didn't need computing machines for decoding during WW2? Who knows ? The nuclear theory behind the bomb was around for a while without any money spent on it until there was a military application for it. Now half of Southern California is fueled by nuclear energy out of San Onofre. There was more learned about internal organs during the second world war than in 300 years before that. More economic aviation during Korean war, space travel for strategic military use. Better suspension for your car from urban warfare of the late 70's and 80's.
It may be nice to live in a utopia though as well. If you ever get a chance try hanging out in a small town that everyone knows everyone. They all get along for the sake of being left alone. Except the fact that you have to bite your tongue it's great.

I think, idealistically, this is a wonderful concept. But, unfortunately, realistically it could never work. In my opinion, competition breeds excellence. Without competition, we have to settle for the status quo. Competition also breeds aggressiveness. With this aggressiveness comes contention. Contention between people = not getting along. So, all in all, a little "not getting along" can be good.
Of course this can be taken way to far and we have all seen when this has happened. I assume when posting this question you meant a broader sense of the phrase. War, murder, etc. That all comes down to free will. A gift and a curse.

Would be boring. Life gets spiced up with the ups and downs. If it is just plain no one would enjoy it. And there would be no improvement, since there will not be any competition or argument. No improvement in science, no improvement in government, no improvement in relationships and on the whole life would be complacent and boring.

it would be great at first but then i would feel rather like a robot with no diversity in the world, and then life would lose what's exciting in the world. you can't know the good times until youve experienced the bad..........

its an impossibility. everyone is the hero of their own story, subsequently the rest of the world (to each individual) is the antagonist.

I don't know. nothing? we'd all sing gay songs, and smoke weed? we'd all wish that there was some violence again? we'd kill ourselves from boredom? i guess we'd have lots of sex, and overpopulate.
