The ones I have encountered all argue that their degree taught them critical thinking. If that is true (not at uni until next year) why do they lack basic commonsense?

People tend to show patriotism to the country they're born in. Why is this? If you are a gungho US patriot, how would you feel if you had been born in another country? Isn't thinking that your birth country is best a form of egotism?

life have you learned by living? What you are told to do is not near as effective as what you have learned to do. Words do not have the impact of experience. Something you read may click, but something you have lived through, bitter or sweet, will stay with you forever.

Why do you have the instinct to live? If there's no God, no post-mortal life, then why do you have the will and instinct to preserve your life? Is it to be happy? Well, if when you're dead that's it, no more, you wouldn't even exist to notice not being happy would you? Seems to me death shouldn't matter to you if you wouldn't exist on the other end of life to know what you may have missed the chance of experiencing by dying. It seems to me there is a gut instinct within you, despite what you choose to SAY you believe, that says there IS something after this life and you would have the chance to regret losing your life earlier than you think you should have. Hopefully you're able to understand exactly what it is I'm trying to say. I'm curious to see what your response is to this type of logic.

Where did the universe come from? When and how did it all begin? How did the universe develop into its present form? Why is there a universe at all? What is it that makes existence here and now possible? Why is there something rather than nothing? Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going? And other questions about the relations between mind and matter ?free will? the nature of consciousness? the forces that caused the big bang - or even what came before the big bang? we should believe our reason and mathematics anyway, why?the limits of reason? the limits of mathematics?if science can explains these questions,I will ask why they are at all comprehensible?why?hehe, why exists answer, why exists these questions, why ask?
