....that would refuse to start up :)

I recently discovered that's how she actually begins tuning up her voice in the very beginning, before continuing with her famous songs! It was the crack of dawn...most of the world yet not awakened...when I suddenly got a glimpse of hers conducting those inharmonic rituals :)

Do you have a similar incident to add to this?

This is an end-of-life Question that depends on your formal or informal philosophy of living and death.

Isn't confession in a catholic church a sort of redemption vending machine.

After each confession, a person's moral record with god is cleared, he/she could go back to the world to break the 10 commandmants again,
i.e. until the next visit to the confessional box.

Shouldn't the church impose a limit, like speeding, etc, so that if say, there's been more than 10
moral infringements, the sinner will never gain entry to heaven. Just like having one's driving permit revoked for repeated traffic infringements.

It is much more sensible and functional. For it makes one think twice before committing any further sin which might bar one forever entry to god's domain in the event of non-compliance.

All three major religions that are directly related to each other - Judaism, Christianity and Islam - teach love and peace. Yet, we have seen throughout history and into the present day, behavior from those religions that is the direct opposite of those teachings. Each of them have participated in persecution, discrimination, terrorist activity and open warfare against those who do not believe as they do. They judge and condemn others who do not practice as they do. Where is the love and acceptance that they so readily preach? Is it a case of "Do as I say and not as I do?" It seems that only Buddhism appears to be the one religion that actually practices kindness and compassion to all.

First, I respect anyone's religion.

But I question, if there is God, why this supreme
being allows many of the wars, chaos, tragedy
take place day after day, year after year on this earth.

Why was no divine action taken against the kilking or slaying of children, infants, toddlers when it is said again and again that God is all
almighty, caring and loving, especially for childen
which are, as the scriptures say, like seeds that he had sowed on earth.

What evils have those children (who had died in
wars, human conflicts, natural disasters or the like) have done to deserve to be yanked from their childhood, infant-hood without being given
a chance to grow, mature and experience.

If there is such a god, why did he just stood by
to allow such to happen to all those innocent children killed or destroyed thro' out history?

Please don't say: "God moves in mystrious ways". This is too hollow.

In Buddism, it is said that every person, regardless of rank, "undergoes the 4 Pains of Life", namely: --

1. The pain of birth

2. The pain of getting old

3. The pain of illness in life

4. The pain of death

So, which of the above 4 pains you feel is the
worst ? Or, you would disagree and say there's
some other pain that is even worse!
