Because carnivores generally only eat herbivores. Eating other carnivores increases the risk of diseases travelling through the food chain. Even in the animal world for example, lions only stick to grass-eating gazelles, antelope, etc.

Exceptions to this preference are based on cultural factors, and the availability of food. For example, in some cultures different types of meat are considered delicacies because they have acquired a taste for them. Or, if there is no other food available most living beings will eat almost anything to survive.

Because it's not very safe to eat animals that eat other animals. They have more diseases than animals who eat only plants.

I don't eat any animals, I'm a vegan.

Cats and dogs have been "domesticated as household pets" for centuries. Distasetful for most civilized humans.
Some few cultures do eat them. There have been restaurants in US, suspected of doing so.

Would YOU like to know some? I might have a suggestion.

A certain ethnic reataurant that I know of, burned down a few years ago. Numerous cat bones were discoverd under the rubble. They since have re-opened.
Well, do you? HUH?

Some people do eat cats and dogs

Others do not because we've bonded with them on an emotional level. I don't raise cows or chickens to eat because I wouldn't want to kill them.

Apparently, you've not been to China and
Korea.

In those countries, cats and dogs are just
part of the evryday menu.

And most restaurants could recommend many
ways of cooking up delicious dishes of cats and
dogs to suit patrons' taste.

This is genuine and true.

It is because of what they eat. Mostly. Cows and chickens eat vegetations and grains, making it much healthier than eating other 'meat eaters'
