Actually the people who are joining the Catholic Church who are interested in the Faith are doing so because of the Church's stand on sexual issues. You should check the statistics and beliefs of both converts and the Catholic diocese that are booming.
Also you should note that the Catholic Church is self-perpetuating and not interested in numbers. Because of the Church's hierarchical structure, people who do not believe in the 2000 year old faith do not get elected to positions that could change the Faith. Oh and we have the promise of God that the Holy Spirit will always protect the Catholic Church from changing the Faith. Not to worry people will be able to whine and complain about the Catholic Faith and its "need to change" (even though they do not want to be Catholic) from now until the end of the world.
For your second question, yes I would consider becoming a priest. Mainly though, if such a choice is given, I would prefer to be a monk. ;-0

The catholic church won't end any time soon because it is so good at adapting. As you can see from previous answers, people are still willing to believe that abstinence=absence from sin, when the practice of abstinence began in a patriarchy in order to control the fertility of women. It isn't outdated yet because many people still believe abstinence is a virtue. The Church has adjusted its principles before to fit the change in times. One of its major changes was to have mass in the vulgate language rather than in Latin. Another change was not to have women cover their heads in church.
No, I wouldn't be a nun because I am not religious.

I am already married.
Otherwise I would definitely consider it.
Celibacy is a Gift. If you don't have it you can not understand it.
Can you understand figure skating or rocket science or pastry cooking. Well if you know about one of these It is likely there are some things you still don't know. If you posted this question or answer in the negative. That only means that you can't understand something of which you yourself are not capable of doing.
That's OK because the Catholic Church will do fine without you. It has been for over 2,000 years. And if your church is into scripture only, Guess where they got the bible from.
When you read the end of the Book, God Wins.
God Bless You, ;-)

I would never become a nun. Of course, the Catholic Church is going to go "out of style" shall we say, one day, but not because of abstinence. People have children out of wedlock and still claim to be Catholic and go to church. Plus, people have children AFTER they're married, so it's not like people don't do anything even afterwards.

I will be entering the seminary to study for the priesthood this fall.
No, Catholicism will not end, at least not until Christ comes back again in glory. How do I know this? Because Christ promised to be with His Church always, even till the end of time (see the end of St. Matthew's Gospel). I believe that He is faithful to His promises, and so we have nothing to fear. The Church will be around until the end of time because the Church continues Christ's mission in the world, here and now. There is need for the Church today, because the world today needs Jesus.
Abstinence can be looked at negatively (to not have sex) or positively. When it is looked at positively, then we truly understand why it exists. Abstinence, or chastity, is a gift that comes from God. It is also a response of man to that gift. God grants me the gift of chastity, and asks me to co-operate by responding to His gift in love. In fact, the desire to offer oneself as a pure and living sacrifice to God (body and soul -- hence, offering our complete self) is a wonderful way of responding to God's gift. We respond, in love, to His gift of love. Abstinence, therefore, will never go "out of style", so long as love (the true love of God) does not.
I hope this helps you. God bless you in your search.
