Well, first God created light, and He saw that it was good. He created the skies, the oceans, the forests and the grass and He saw that it was all good. He continued creating things trying to out perform himself each time. The Devil, looking at that said, "sure, those are all nice, in a tacky kind of way". God looks at him a little confused and he continues. "All that is good only to hang on lobbies, true art should reflect the inner conflicts and pain of the artist. Why don't you show us something mean and cruel?
God listened to the Devil, looked at his creation and had to agree. So he created ticks and fleas. The Devil clapped his hands and said, "great, that's the idea, but not really that bad. Show me your pain". God thinks for a while and creates sharks. "Wow", the Devil whispers, "I couldn't have done better. God, you rule! You the man!". God gets proud, pulls up his sleeve and creates Texas. The Devil looks at Him, shrugs his shoulders and says "So?". God replies, "Wait 'till you see the people I'm putting there".
This is obviously a joke, so for whomever this may concern: get over it.

Makes you think about the relevance of the hebrew texts in the christian faith which mentions very little of creationism. Why was this included in the christian bible in the first place?
More importantly, it kind of pisses on the traditional western charaterisation of what God is.
If you stop looking to God as a father figure that is separate from you and can be blamed and credited with all aspects of you life, and start believing in something that you are a part of, allong with all the creatures, the heaveans and the earth, you become accountable and inseperable from all things. You are god and you are the flea. And they are you.
Fun isnt it

Sharks and other predators help balance out the population of the animals that they feed on. They also help to keep them healthy (as a whole). Don't know about the bugs, I think they're just around to be eaten by the cooler animals. As for Texas God may have made the land that is Texas but American made it a state. (It's actually not that bad here either.)

When you study an animal, you find how it fits in the whole system. For example, sharks are essential for controlling fish population, else they are vulnerable to total extinction if the food supply takes a downturn. They balance, or smooth out, changes in the environment.
I have to admit, I don't know much about the role of fleas and ticks, but they also have their role in controlling an animal's population.

God did not create Texas.
He may have allowed a landmass to come to be that man called Texas, however, don't hold him responsible.
As to the ticks, fleas, etc:
There is something called the balance of nature.
Man has often played with it to his detriment.
Even if we don't understand 100%, it does have to do with the balance ....of nature.

because they concealed Jews durint WW2, 2 Christian sisters were despatched to a spotlight camp. Their barrack became infested with fleas and lice so the German guards were afraid to go back in to envision what they were doing. because of those pests, they were able to spread the Gospel and convert many Jews. They were grateful for the fleas and lice, because without them they does no longer were able to do God's will and paintings. this can be a real tale.

I'm not sure about the creatures you mentioned, but Texas was created so that we could have a place so wonderful, friendly, inspiring that every other place could try to be like it.

I want a pair of boots made out of living sharks so that when I'm pissed off at someone I can kick them and the sharks will bite them in the knee.
