Truth does not need to be defended, it is self evident, most agree with that. But anyone ever question that which we are defending?Religion, Politics, Patriotisms, Pacifism, all that isms, who said it is a Truth if we are defending it with bloody eyes.

I disagree that Truth is self-evident. There is not one person on earth who agrees another person about everything. Which either means that there is no Truth or that the Truth is out there but not everyone sees it as being Truth. So, those people who know what Truth is do defend it to those who attack it through ignorance or malice. I think Truth can be found if someone takes the time to search for it but it gets lost.

Some truth is self-evident, yes. But most of it is not. The vast majority of truth requires some research to unlock. For thousands of years, it was "self-evident" that the Earth is flat, and that it was the center of the universe.

If we know the Truth, we must defend it against those who have been misled, against those who intentionally mislead and against those who are merely ignorant of the Truth.

Your question itself is an argument against your conclusion. You suggest Truth is self-evident and does not need to be defended, yet your argument is itself a defense of this "self-evident Truth" you have identified.

Truth is most often the unwitting darling, championed by those with a passion, but without a cause. It is seized and martyred in the name of good and then dragged through the mud until it is unrecognizable from muck and mire upon which it floats. Truth is not a cause. It is the light by which we were meant to see the world.

No one I know of has ever been able to give a definition of truth except to say it is not a lie. You've oversimplified what has puzzled man throughout his existence on earth.

Are we fighting for the best interpretation? Yes. Does it exist independent of us... NO. We constitute truth, performing it.
