Industrialization does not equal evolution. It's man's resistance to a mature cultural revolution that is leading us to our demise. Like children, we want what we want, and ignore the consequences. We lack social responsibilty.

Technology offers plenty of answers to our pollution problems....but as long as the big oil folks pin us to the financial wall to soak us dry, and keep running things, we are stuck. People need to get PISSED OFF and force change, instead of sticking their heads in the sand and whining.

We need a kick-butt financial, political, and social revoltion. Then we can REALLY evolve.

No. Mankind's desire to dominate over others and land and resource acquisitions through violence will be the ultimate doom. The earth has seen many damaging things, including a huge meteor, ice age, and recovered just fine. Mankind will be annihilated through greed and missiles, and religious differences.

Yes, but I wouldn't call it a desire to evolve, maybe just because I think of that word in a biological sense. Rather, I'd say it's our desire to rise above the earth, and prove ourselves better than any other species.

Global destruction, nope. Only partial. Eventually, some humans will survive, and will learn from their predecessors mistakes..

"Desire to evolve" is a curious statement of our natural instincts for pre-selection.... Our goal in life is to reduce pain and increase pleasure... Self-destruction is not a natural instinct...therefore its apparent that we must do something to prevent our ultimate doom...but what?
