I'm an amateur composer of instrumental music and have always written my staffs manually. To work faster and more precisely I'm looking for a program to help me do that. Now, I'm not looking for a tablature program, but one to construct and print the real thing: you know, the five lines with dots-thing... I will be grateful if someone would give me a hint in the right direction. ;) Pim, Utrecht, the Netherlands

I can carry a tune ok, but when I try to really sing, I feel my vocal cords tighten and I start coughing. What are some good ways to warm up and get strength in your voice?

Hi, I am in my last year of school in college and am presedent of a music sorority. Next week we are going to induct new members and have a lot of fun during or pledge and after pledge week. During all this our sorority has hired a hypnotist to perform and as the presedent I will have to volunteer and get hypnotized. I am really worried about this because I don't want to embarass myself and am worried that hypnotists could take advantage of me. Has anyone here been hypnotized and knows what it's like? Does it hurt and does it make you all suggestable afterwords? Or..is it just a lot of fun. I want to have fun next week and participate but...this nervous I doubt I can. I appreciate any help.

I in 10th grade and my 2nd year in marching band. Even though it's alot of work to be in marching band, it is an excellent experience to go through. Last year in band camp, i was a freshman and was a little worried about band cam, but once we started to learn the drill and music, i knew that it was gonna be easy. For those of you who don't know, our field show was titled Pirates! Myths and Legends. This show won us numerous 1st place trophies and we even made it to the SCSBOA Championships and earned a 5th place. This year, our show is titled Pandora's Box and it will even be a bigger hit than last year.
I go to Indio High School and hope that some of you know about us. what was your experience for marching band last year, and for this year coming, and what was your field show?

I have bought a Cambodian Tro (lute) - it is the two-string version where the bow resides between the two strings. Can someone explain in a bit more detail how this instrument is played? Where are the hands positioned? Which strings are played as the bow moved back and forth between them? Does one string cover the treble and the other the bass? Do you apply pressure with the left hand alternately between the two different strings, or is the pressure applied to both strings at the same time?

I was wondering that do drumkit ever get outdated. I mean if I buy one now, five years down the road, will it get outdated?

Many people said that Pearl Export 5 piece is good for intermediate drummers but is there any better alternatives? I will like to know whether it will be better order the drumkit online or should I go to any shop to buy.

If it's better to go shops to buy one, where should I visit if I live in Singapore? Are there any shops that sell them?

One last thing, what brand of drumsticks does not break easily?

I want to play really bad, but I could use a little bit of help from resources that show me where a certain note is played (the kind of complicated ones under bars and such).
As soon as I can get some spare time between jobs, I will get a teacher, but in the meantime, maybe this will help?
Any resources out there?

What effects, if any, does using a violin bow on a viola have on the tone of the instrument? Details if possible. I know the differences between a violin and a viola, so you don't need to give me that information. Thanks!

I thought I was in love, that this guy I saw was sent down here from up above,I'm too young to be in love, right now I'm just a free dove. This guy I thought I was in love withis my biggest crush, everytime he walks by I start to blush. Everytime I look at him my heart stops it's beat, you could never meet another guy like him because he's really sweet. He's probably not the guy most girls would date, but he's special to me and I think he's really great. I know if I asked him out he would say no, so I'm going to forget about it, let it go. I don't know if this guy likes me back, but if he did I would be lucky not to have a heart attack. This guy I like is really nice to me for him I could write so much poetry. When he looks at me with those bright eyes of his, it makes me feel like I have butterflies, like right before a quiz. He is handsome, it would be hard for me not to take a glance, he is so lovely, with him I would dance. He's a fun guy to hang out with, sometimes he's mysterious.

I sing with a mixed choir, and I am on the music selection comittee. I am looking for suggestions of Christmas music that can be performed chorally. We sing a variety of music. SATB is good but if it is a good arrangement willing to try other voicings. Choir is about 35 voices.
