My voice teacher constantly reminds me to concentrate on singing the vowels. Awww, Eeeee, Iiiiiiiiiii, Oooooo , Ouuuuu (new). That doesn't mean to negate consonants alltogether. Breathing is a big part. When you sing out... you have to push the sound out beyond your face... don't let it get stuck at your teeth. When you breath in, make the roof of your mouth feel like you are yawning. Try to string your words together so they flow better rather than sounding like you are stepping from word to word. Relax your jaw. Open your mouth and sing from the chest, not the throat. These are just a few things... it takes lots of work to remember everything to the point where it all comes naturally. Just give it time and practice practice practice. Record yourself today. Use some of these tips... then record yourself again in a few weeks to see your progress. Hope this helps for now.

I am going through the same thing myself. I have would like for my range to be higher. I know I sing good, but I would like to have a better range. I think practicing every day, getting plenty of rest, and water are important. And although I don't do vocal exercises because I don't know how, this would probably help too.

Really and truly the very best way to sing better is to get a good voice teacher. I was always told that I had a good voice, but it wasn't until I got a GOOD voice teacher that I really started to improve. Despite what you may think, to really sing well is work. It takes training no matter how good you are. You can alway improve. Your voice is like an instrument: it takes practice to get good.

A few voice lessons can go a long way. There are some really simple techniques that can really make you sound better, and improve your range. They can't really be taught over the internet though, you need someone who can coach you in person. Hard to give any tips since I have no idea what level you are currently at. Good luck.

If you really want to you should take lessons. There are many who are just born to naturally do something better than the rest of us. They too practice though. I think lessons and practice with a good open positive mind.

well first practice makes perfect. hire a vocals coach. they would be the only ones to really work with you and get you where you want to be. also, there are always going to be people better than you no matter what. you just got to be confident in yourself and not compare yourself to anyone. good luck!

Sing along with different types of songs and try to match the singer's nuances and ranges.
