What would you think would be a good way to start a musical (that is, vocal) career at 25?

Depends. Are you considering theater-type singing or like rock or what? If you haven't been trained yet, that's the first thing to do. And then look around for small restaurants or bars where you can perform anytime you can. Your career will take off from there if you're good enough.

Most recording artists will tell you that they got their start in the music business at the local level. They performed in clubs and theater, etc.

You may have to pay for a demo tape and submit it to lots of people before you get a nibble. Remember, thousands of people try out for American Idol -- and many of them are pretty good. It takes a lot, though, to be GREAT!

Good luck.
